How do I know when my battery is no good? My phone just shuts off for no reason. It shows the battery is low then only takes fifteen minutes for the phone to charge. The past couple weeks it has been acting strange turning off battery low recharge soon. I am thinking the battery is bad, could this be? Any other similar problems?

Try taking the battery off, then turning it back on. If you gain battery bars, it's the common bug with M1's. If you don't, and you have insurance, you can request they send you a replacement with a battery.

It says it's done, but it really isn't. I just plug mine in when I go to bed at night and unplug it in the morning. Charge lasts for 3-4 days (less if I'm using apps). And I've had it since the day it was released. It's only been turned off probably less than a dozen times since I got it.

How long do your M1 batteries last while using data/EVDO? I've only managed an hour to an hour and a half listening to music on Sprint Radio, so I'm wondering if my battery is also getting old or if it is normal.

It'd last a day with heavy use on my old extended battery (OEM). With a regular one it'll last like half a day

Had the same problem with mine.. May talk on it for 20 min. then battery would be dead, so I would take off the battery try clean the battery connections and put it back on.. Nothing seamed to work so i went to sprint store and they ordered me a new M1 and battery.. And that has happend ywice in a year and a half..

I'm not sure I think I've had my M1 for a little more than a year.
I started seeing short battery life and so I ordered a new OEM battery.
Within a month even with the newer battery it was doing the same thing.
I can charge it and in 45 minutes it says it's green and ready to go.
If I get a call and unplug by the end of a 15 minute call it's dead dead dead.
This is a real bummer. I liked this phone alot when I first got it and I used to beable to txt back and forth for hours without issue. Now it's just an embarrasing paper weight that I keep around in case my girlfriend in Basic Training calls because I don't want to switch phones in case she calls during the transition.

i'd go with Ti RX-8's suggestion... i do the same thing. leave it plugged in overnight regardless if the indicator says it's done. doing this, it'll usually last me through the day with some moderate calling, web browsing, audio/video streaming.

Sadly that's exactly what I do.
I leave it plugged in all night and most of the time.
At this point the only reason I keep the phone on me is in case my girlfriend calls from Basic training. Most other people have my Blackberry (work provided) number.
I'm considering switching to ATT not because of the phone but because of her family but I can't believe how their prices are horrible.

my phone does the same thing but i found the solution. take out the battery and put some folded paper on the top right corner. it works for me.

Wow, I'll try that the next time it does that.
For now I switched back to the battery that it came with and which as you can imagine was dead dead dead from sitting around and it took hours to charge up and the phone has acted properly ever since which has been about a week now. Knock on wood for me.

that stops the squeaking, dont think it helps with battery life

haha yeah that's why i did that but if i take the paper out i get horrible battery life. it doesn't even last 2hours after a full charge. i think what it does is the paper helps the battery staying tightly on the phone.

Just wondering where you found a place to order an OEM battery for the M1 because I have scoured the internet/ebay and cannot find any OEM batteries (although I did find a EXT OEM battery).

I sort of have this problem on my m1 as well, its nice to hear that I am not the only that has this issue. I dont carry my sprint phone anymore, I just use my tmobile and leave the m1 charging. And then sometimes for fun I just use the sprint one for web when I get home, and its like 15 minutes of use and please charge soon. Its not a big issue for me though, I wont have the sprint service much longer.

That's an aftermarket battery btw brother, and how did you get a sprint store to order you another M1? I work for sprint (indirect) and we cannot order M1's (does not show up on BrightPoint) or OEM batteries for them. Did you go to a corporate store?

my local 3rd party sprint store orders replacements for me. They can include a new battery with the phone if they click something

it would be sISTER no brother, and I went to a sprint store and the tech was the one that told me that he order it, I have to get it tomorrow, that battery might work, cause I bought my ext. on ebay and is the best that I have, better than the sanyo the phone brought and that the sprint they order last year

Haha my bad Sister ;). And I don't doubt that the aftermarket batteries work just as well, but I'm kinda anal when it comes to that sort of thing for my phone and like the OEM if I can get it =(.

Good luck I'm going to ask tomorrow when I pick my M 1 to the tech where you can get one and let you know later on, I might not need mine cause I'm thinking in getting the new Moto V 950 that comes out next tuesday Sept. 2 when I saw I love it, that's the kind of phone I like, I really like the SAnyo pro 700 but doesn't have camera, tv, ect. like M 1 and now this new Moto is looks like the pro 700 but have all the gadgets so I can't wait

The V 950 sounds interesting. I'm going to look into this phone. I would buy the pro 700 if it had mp3 player. DO you have any idea what the pricing will be on the V950?

When I call C/S this afternoon they told would be 329.99 and if your elegible for an upgrade would be 179.99 and then you have a 50.00 mail in rebate, total price would be 129.99 , I think is not that bad, and release date would be next tuesday Sep. 2 , I can't wait cause I'm going to get it, I was waiting for the pro 700 and then it came out without camera, sprint tv and I was dissapointed cause I would prefer Sanyo but I guess Motorola makes good phone and I'm going for the Moto V950
