hey guys,

in desktop manager, i click help and hit device properties...it says "A communication error occured while attempting to establish a connection to this device." on the phone it quickly flashes the while screen that says "connected to desktop" and goes away.

i can't also use media manager. it just says theres no device connected.

i do see the media card in my computer and i can transfer stuff there.

i can also install applications, back up etc.

any ideas?

Running the newest version of BDM?
Restarted computer, battery pulled the Blackberry?
Tried a different USB port?
What operating system?

If that stuff is unsuccessful I would uninstall the device from Device Manager and let it redetect. (Right click My Computer, choose Manage, choose Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus Controllers you should see Blackberry Smartphone- remove it and then reconnect your device)

I was having some similar issues and had the BDM from the Blackberry site (https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do;jsessionid=i3rlSTmM9Fm16xDf6pE8A A**) installed. I decided to see what version was on the CD and when I went to install it I was asked if I really wanted to install an older version. So worse comes to worse, snag the version off the website.

The Device Manager thing will probably get you up and running though. That was eventually my fix.

The Roxio part takes forever regardless of the source of the install. ;)

I got everthing working for me EXCEPT the roxio media manager. Pc is in the shop under a warenty repare. When I get it back I am starting all over.

Anyone else ever have a problem with roxio only and find a fix?

Thanks, cody
