I turned my curve off a minute ago, and now it won't turn on. Do I have to take the battery out and put it back in. If so, will that erase my contacts?

Thanks in advance

Removing the battery will not erase any data. Press the button on the top.

Thanks in advanceTry doing a battery pull, with blackberrys you don't have to press the power button to turn the phone on, it should turn on automatically when you put the battery back in.

Nah, I turned it off because it froze when I tried opening sprint Navigation. When I tried turning it back on it did nothing at all. I took the battery out and put it back it. It's good now. I think I'm not going to have it set to turn on and off automatically though. I probably shouldn't have turned it off in the middle of it trying to run the program, but it was pissing me off.

Yea that hour glass can get annoying at times, I find that sometimes when you turn it off during installation of a program then try and turn it back on it'll take longer for it to turn on.

Matt what was your battery strength during freeze session ?
Ive noticed twice when battery is low..Below 15 % Sprint nav has froze my device .Taking battery out does the trick .

This is probably the silliest question I've ever had to ask about a phone, but when I turn off my Curve by pressing the red power button, and then press it again to turn it back on, it turns on immediately, right to the main screen and ready to go, as if it was only on standby. When I take the battery out and put it back in then the phone actually does 'reboot'. Can someone explain to me why the phone starts up more quickly than any phone I've ever seen when turning the power on? Is the phone really off during this time?

i have actually done that and after about couple of minutes of fiddling with on off keys i finally figured it out.
