Ordered my Curve on 5/13 at 5pm. My second 755p is on its last legs so I figured I'd just get the Curve anyway. They keep telling me and assuring me it will be here on 5/17 which is fine since I am leaving on the morning of the 18th for two weeks. Everytime I call they say it hasn't shipped yet but continue to say it will be there on 5/17.

I am currently on the phone w/ retentions because I don't want to end up out of town for two weeks without a phone. I am hoping they'll let me pick one up at the store. The retentions rep is telling me as I am typing that it is back in stock so at least thats good. Oh well, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I told him that I really need a phone, so I might just cancel my account and sign a new contract with ATT so I have a phone, but I'd rather not do that.

Well todays the 16th so if it hasn't shipped yet I can tell you now you will not get it by the 17th. Even if it ships today overnight it will arrive Monday the 19th. You say your Treo is on its last legs, you cannot use it for at least another 2 weeks? unless its completely dead and you cant use it at all then it looks like you will have to survive with your 755p until you get back. I think canceling and going to AT&T is a bit drastic. Maybe you can get a cheap phone from Criagslist to hold you until the Curve comes. Or maybe sign up with AT&T, use thier trial period for 2 weeks and then return it when you get back but don't cancel your Sprint contract.

I think what I might do is go to Sprint and sign for a third line of service with the Curve. Then cancel that line of service when the new one arrives.

Went ahead and added a line of service to the account. Got a curve, typing this reply on the phone. Will likely return it after I get back in town as long as its less than 30 days I should be ok.

The retentions rep explained to me earlier this morning that the agreement they have with UPS doesn't include shipping on Saturday's so I TO have to wait until Monday even though I have spent (NO EXAGGERATION) apprx 5-6 hrs on the hpone with account services over the past 4 days.

The final word on mine is that it will not likely be delivered by Saturday. They are going to try and get it out today and they can't add overnight delivery since the order has already been processed. I could cancel the order and reorder it with overnight delivery but I would be at the end of the line. So they are going to call fedex when it goes out and request a rush delivery. But I guess I don't care since I already have my curve and it is awesome. I told the retentions rep that I would simply open up another line and cancel it when the phone arrived. He said he wished I didn't have to do it but he understood. I just hope I don't damage this phone in the next couple of weeks.!!

Also, once the order goes out on the type of service (2 day air) or however it was shipped, that is they way it is going to be shipped. You CANNOT change the type of service once it is shipped. So the rep is telling you incorrect info.

ya he is right. once UPS gets the billing info, there's nothing they can do.

nextel goes out by fedex. i have yet to receive a sprint phone via fedex.
