Hi I was wondering which was better the rumor or centro. I had the rumor but I got rid of it cause it couldn't play youtube videos or any other videos. I know that the rumor can get ringtones from mobile17.com. Can the centro get ringtones from there? Can centro play vids? What is the pros and cons of each? Thanks

Like most things it depends on ur needs, taste, etc. I was curious about the rumor but a rep advised me against it. I can say that I really like slide keyboards and big screens

I have a Centro and aside from the no flash and no MMS, Im very happy with it. .
Never used mobile17.com so I dont know about that. I will check it out tho and c if it works.
I use an app called mini tones for making ringtones from the music on my computer. Youtube wasn't a problem either Using the Centro PAM is great. Phone charges with USB cable so I dont have to worry about battery life while online

As I said earlier it depends on ur needs. I like features that include mp3, voice memo, camera of course, and memory card and the Centro has that. Music is major to me and surprisingly the little speaker provides a nice sound. the touch screen is also a plus for me. Im STILL learning what can be done with this phone.
Since ur familair with the Rumor why not give the Centro a 30 day try and get that good ol' hands on experience. :)

was that helpful in anyway?

I've used both and while the Rumor is an awesome texting phone, the fact that it doesn't have EV-DO is crippling to what the phone COULD be, in my opinion. Even though my Centro is a little bulky, I love it and all of its great features.

i have had both.... i like the centro but the battery life isnt enough for my life style... and with my nails texting was very hard for me.. i also have a sidekick (teen addiction) so i settled the rumor on my sprint line because of its light weight...overrall going with the centro would be good choice and mobile17.com worked fine on my centro

My wife went from the LG Rumor to the Pink Centro. She didn't use the internet so the vision didn't bother her. She only left the rumor because I bought a centro for her. She has no complaints about either of them. She really only cares about the phone having a keyboard or not.

I used the rumor for a little bit and I thought it was a decent phone as well. I synced my Sprint, Comcast, AOL, and Yahoo! email accounts to the phone and it worked great. Upon my tests, I determined that it was close to "push email" like the BB. I also was using the internet to browse some wap sites and I honestly didn't even know that I wasn't using power vision.

The phones are vastly different though. Do you want a "Smartphone" or do you want a phone with a qwerty keyboard?

you cant compare these phones  want a texting non evdo phone or a smart phone. theres no comparison with the two. regular cell phone with qwerty or a smart phone with qwerty thats the only comparison :icon_smil

non evdo or evdo> Id go with faster

I have a Rumor rihgt now, but I'm looking to get a Centro. Will the SD Micro Memory card (sandisk) from my Rumor work in the centro?

my best friends wife has the rumor and I bought my wife the centro when I got myself my mogul(first rule of marrige, don't plan on buying yourself something unless you are prepared to buy her something). I would say for the price point and feature list there is no better phone on the market than the centro. personally I like winmob more than the palm OS but the centro does video no problem and that little speaker on there will fill my living room with fairly clear sound when playing music. microSD slot to store all your music and as was mentioned before you don't even have to bother with some silly ringtone site because with the right program you can use any mp3 you want as a ringer. add to all that email, google maps, threaded txt and quick internet speed you got yourself a killer device epecially if they are still going for $99. the only thing that bothers me is the small keyboard, but that's why I have my mogul.
