I'm a new user to BB and just got set up on my Corporate Email today. I was annoyed to find that the email and my txt messages end up in the same location.
Previously on my palm txt messages (even threaded!!) were by themselves. and Email was off by itself - Even broken out by accounts.
Surely as much as I've heard that BlackBerry is god when it comes to email there has to be an easy way to keep these separated? Is there?

Just open up messaging, then goto Options, then General Options. Scroll down to "SMS And Email Inboxes" and select "Separated".
Hope that helps.

Only bad part now is IMs, PIM, etc still are intermingled with my corporate messages.. have any cure for that too? I supposed selecting my inbox from the view would do it.

Now that I have sucessfully separated SMS messages from my emails. my emails and phone calls are sprinkled in together.. Is there any way to have the messages app set only to my Inbox or to force the calls to stay only in the call log?

Someone correct me if I am wrong, however since you are on BES, all your texts and pim messg'ing is stored on the BES server. So check your IT audit policy on logging for that stuff.

I am not sure if the txt messages and pims are saved on the bes? Because all bes is handling is the email part from exchange out to rim. But i will look at our bes server and find out for sure.

BES handles it all at one point. Right now you can configure BES to log all of these things and audit/retain them.

Check out BES MailBox (http://www.getempower.com/Empower_BES_MailBox.php) from Empower. It will create a separate icon for just BES email similar to how BIS email accounts are currently set up. They recently released their new version which is compatible with the Curve. It isn't free but it's a great app.
