Has anyone successfully connected to PAM with their Curve??? Everytime I plug in the phone, the Connection Manager doesn't even recognize that a phone is plugged in. I tried downloading the latest connection manager but it's not helping.

Yeah I was going to play around with it tonight and notices that. Its not even on the supported devices list. I guess they're working on it.

if your computer installed a modem driver for the curve, just make a generic dial up connection using the curve as the modem and the # as #777 it should work

I spent a few hours on it last night. Even downloaded latest version of Sprint SmartView for XP V1.13.0010.0 which included the drivers for the Curve 8330. Then with USB cable connected I can see my phone and the signal strength.:tu:
~
You want to use CD that came with the Curve and install the software. There is a BlackBerry Device Manager that will show if your Curve is detected & connected to your PC. I am using Dell 9300 Laptop and have done this before with older phone.:Popcorn2:

I want the PAM to work with BlueTooth which takes more effort. I had to uninstall the BlueTooth Drivers for Toshiba and use the default Windows XP Sp2 driver.:frustrate

I used PAM yesterday and it worked fine, but I'm not using Sprint Connection Manager.

I didn't even have to install anything; I just plugged it in, clicked my connection shortcut (that I used for my 8830) and it just worked. Of course maybe they use a generic modem driver for all BlackBerry models, which should probably be installed with the BDM.

How much is pam for the blackberry?

It's included with the $39 plan, or it can be added to the $30 plan for an additional $15 per month.

I got pam issues to I have connectiom manager and smart view installed and I spent 3 hours on the phone with sprint BB support. And still no luck so I am waiting for a call from the engineers so i am told. If the truth be known it probibly is going to be some avrage joe from su that helps me out. I also have and issue with yahoo messanger and I am told that both of these problems are common.

Ok I fixed mine so here ill tell you what I did.

For the PAM first install sprint connection manager and then sprint view you can get both of them through sprints download center. If you have a preexisting wireless connection you will have to turn it off then run sprint smart view and you should be all set. You don't need to run sprint connection manager it just needs to be installed I dont know why because I tried every thing and no go.

As far as yahoo messenger just fallow these directions it will take you 5 min tops

Go here and download this file

http://www.box.net/shared/aetu7mfqip

Then used the BB Desktop Manager Back Up & Restore then use the "Restore" function to restore the .ipd file to your Sprint Curve 8330.

Then go hear and update you Service Books

https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=sprint

And after that you should be Good To Go I hope this help you.

You don't need to set up a connection it will do it automaticly and make sure u have the latest version of both programs also make sure you check off the right driver's

I finally joined the PAM family....

I am sick of COmcast's downtimes in the area and not being able to get on the internet through out the day. My neighbors have the same trouble, yet comcast says its our computers...... suuuuuuuurrrrrreeeeee

$15 is worth it to me at this point!

Couldnt get Sprint Mobile Broadband to work but Smartview worked like a charm!!!!

Everytime I try to use PAM using my new 8330 via SmartView, I get the following error:

"An external connection is already present, connecting is not allowed." There's no connection to the internet, wireless radios are all turned off. Sprint Tech support tells me this is not uncommon with the 8330 and sometimes it just won't work, there isn't a solution.

That doesn't sound like a good response to me. But before I call again and spend 2 hours of technical experimentation, thought I'd see if anyone else here has heard of this happening or has a solution in mind.

The SmartView detects the phone and a signal, just won't let me connect.

i think, you need both SprintView and Sprint Connection Manager.

i think, you need both SprintView and Sprint Connection Manager.

I thought SmartView was the replacement for Sprint Connection Manager? I tried using Sprint Connection Manager, but it wouldn't even recognize my 8330 was connected to it.
