I have been with Sprint for 1 year now. I want to upgrade to the Blackberry Pearl now!! I don't want to wait another year and have to sign a new contract, but it looks like I have to if I want to get the online $99 price. If I upgrade now, I'll only get $75 off of $499.99!!!! But if I wait till my 2 year is up, sign a whole new contract I can get the $99.99 price, maybe even for cheaper next year.
Is there any way i can get a larger discount other than $75 off of $499?

With only a year in, and Sprint not giving the farm away like it use to, I can't see you getting anything besides $75 off.
Just call, and see what they tell you.

Yep I highly doubt Sprint will give you more then $75 especially because they just got a new CEO that is restructuring everything and retentions are not allowed to just discount phones like they used to be able to, the only way they can if they get it approved by upper management and they have to have a really valid reason for upper management to approve it so you will most likely not get it.

All depends on why you want it and your story. I've seen it and I've seen it get denied. Be honest. If you want a new phone because your bored of yours, piss off. If your being hired by a company that demands a certain feature, you've had technical problems, your going blind and need a bigger display or something the agent can sympothize with, its concievable.

Yeah if your in your first year you can probably forget it. they won't give you more than the $75. If they did I'd be very suprised:fingers:

Actually I spoke with Telesales yesterday and one guy offered it to me for $175 - $100 mail in rebate!! So $75!! I don't have $175 right now and I asked if I could have it credited to my account, he said not yet I have to have another months worth of payment history. But that he would call me back next month when I can have it credited and maybe apply MORE discounts!!!
WOOHOO!

I thought I would have a better deal getting the Pearl over the Curve because it is $100 less, and I am only 1 year into my contract. But now I am going to try to switch and ask for the Curve w/ all the discounts he offered!!

If you have no use for your current phone after the upgrade, you could try asking them if they would take a trade-in. I was able to make an even trade-in with my Treo 700wx for a HTC Mogul and I was only 10 months in. Heck, I even made money after rebate, so they essentially paid me to exchange for a new phone.
Key fact, you can extend your contract every 6 months.

You traded a WM device, for other WM device which many have done in the past. Those trades happen becuase of defected units. I don't see Sprint taking in a M500 for a BB device.

Well, when I made the trade, I never had any problems with my 700wx and did not say that it had any problems in order to get the trade. Though I see what you are saying and that may have been the case in the CSR's mind.

What the OP needs to do is sell the M500 to make up the difference in $.

i swear you canceled sprint already.
watch it be a new line of service (hence the whole bill to account and waiting a couple more months until they can approve you to 3 lines no deposit) :P

I am confused. Was that comment directed towards me? If it was, I did cancel 1 of my 2 lines with Sprint so that is right you must have noticed my first post on this site cuz that was awhile ago anyways ... No it was not a new line of service, nothing of that sort was ever discussed the guy really jsut wanted me to be a satisfied customer and purchase a new phone! I am the one who wanted it billed to my account because I already have a credit on my account... 3 lines ... ??? what if I am commenting to a comment that wasnt for me ... hahahaha that would make sense as to why this comment doesnt make sense ... oh man
