First of all on a DLX you need to have the latest software/firmware 1.010sp or you will only cause yourself a ton of problems. To check it do this dial##786# you will see a menu select view scroll down to version and look at the value of sw if it is not 1.010sp sale it into a sprint repair center. If that is all good then just set it up and it does the push on its own.

When I had mine replaced a few weeks ago I never set up the email so when I read your post I couldn't remember the correct answer so I set it up via the wizard you go through and its over catching up with all of the mail in my in box.
go in to the messaging menu do you see a count next to the email tab number 6 ?

i use the email application but i only have a sprint email account. I dont have any other email account but i assume, as mike068 said, once your email accounts are set up thru the Wizard, the push should just work automatically.
something i have noticed on both of the DLX's I have had is the following:
-when someone sends me an email, i get a txt message. if i go to the email app. i dont have any new emails in my Inbox so i have to click on Check Mail. Then my new email pops up BUT if i wait a few minutes after i get a text message, then i get another message saying New Email and the new email is automatically in my Inbox.
Whats Up With That?
Mike, maybe you know. My brother says that he gets the email pushed immediately.
i mentioned my problem, if it is one, because the problem the OP is having may be related regarding the Push Issues.
my push is delayed while the OP's push is non existent. if this is the case, it has got to be a DLX issue.

Hay Rich you can change the text option log into your pcs mail go to settings and preferences, notifications then go all the way to the bottom and make sure none is checked and you wont get that text anymore it use to be just a check box but they changed it so you can filter it. On my DLX sometime there is a delay sometimes no its probibaly got something to do with how busy the network's are because are kind og oging through sevral networks if you think about it.

i just checked and on the third choice down, after number of messages and amount of text it says auto-receive and the box is checked.
is this what you are speaking about. if so, it seems i have the old description/choice.
maybe i have to reinitialize my email application?

Thanks. I will keep that in mind.
If you leave the checkbox checked in the email client for "auto receive", the email messages for that particular account (yahoo, gmail etc) will all be pushed and you'll get a buzz or other notification each time you get an email message. I turned mine off...get too many and didn't want a BB. The setup is quite easy in this app on the DLX, simply use the pop or other settings the email accounts have on your pc. Yahoo and Gmail don't require anything more than your username and pw. good luck.
