No need to threat. I just said that customer service sent me to them for help and that I was really anxious to get the Curve. "I know I still have some time before I'm eligible for the full discount, but is there anyway I could get it early?" He came back a few minutes later and said, "sure, I can help you with that." Said he couldn't make the MIR instant, but would overnight the phone to me. Final price: $279 - $100 MIR = $179

for mail in rebates, they mail them out after the device has been active 30 days, usually you get it in within 2 weeks of that.

This answers a question I've had. Thanks. Come June 1st, I will be halfway through a 2 year contract, not up till June 2009. So I should be eligible for $75 off, correct? just cause u have a UPS tracking number doesnt mean UPS has it in their system. sprint has an account with UPS and they can generate tracking numbers or watever..so once UPS updates their system you will see the status. so check late evening.

I got the same deal ordering through retentions. I'm on p2k so the downside is that its an asi order. That apparently no one can find a tracking number for since its an older system. It shows processing so it could have shipped and it would still show processing. All I know is that I want it on monday the latest. Not tuesday!

Yes, it tends to take several hours for the tracking number to show up on the UPS website. I placed my order around 11 AM CT and by 7PM when I called order support for the tracking number,mine still wasn't showing up in the UPS system. Intrestingly enough, the rep that gave me the tracking number entered it on her end and told me that the order showed it would have a Saturday delivery. I asked her if she meant Saturday ship date or delivery date and she confirmed that it showed Saturday delivery date. I'll believe it when I see it, but that would be nice if it happened.

you can use the "Switch device Wizard" in the desktop software and transfer everything incl. messenger contact and it will set it up so all your contacts don't have to do anything on their end, they will never know the difference. Also, you can switch your device for your BIS email accounts before activating the new one, just go into the email setup and select switch device.

no, they will know the difference, they have to have your new PIN in their phone, which requires a new BB messenger request. i used the switch device wizard on my replacement pearl, and couldnt contact anyone. i had to delete everyone and re-add them to be able to talk to them

My curve will end up being free in the long run. I got my pearl free from the RIM rep when I worked for Sprint. I just had the Pearl replaced through Insurance, so it's basically brand new. When I get my Curve, I will sell the pearl for probably very close to what I paid for the Curve, if not a little more. Woo hoo, very cheap or free Curve in the long run!

This was all part of a giant plan negotiation with retentions, and the plan I got will essentially make the BB service free for me (new plan + BB service = essentially my old monthly base rate). I probably should have tried retentions but did not feel like playing that card yet. I usually only do when I am really about to cancel. :indiff:

I got TeleSales and ended up using the upgrade eligibility on my second line. (It is a SERO line) I should not have upgrade eligibility on that one because I have only had it since January. Unless SERO lines give you extra upgrade oppertunities or something......I really have no clue how that happened.

I also found out that my main line is up for a new phone on June 1st of this year.

Same here; the order number they gave me after placing the order started with X, however, when I called back on Saturday to check the status, they gave me a different order number. So, you can call back, have them pull up your order by your name/phone number and they'll give you the tracking number.

This order system gives the most detailed info and the tracking number.

The order system within your account might still say nothing at all. Mine says order in progress while the link I mentioned above tells me the order is shipped and provides tracking info.

I just called CS and thats what I was told... although the BB plan includes unlimited data but so does the SERO plan so it seems like youre paying for the same thing twice...

I have been reading through the forums for weeks and seeing how so many of you got awesome deals through AS or retentions. I just spent an hour doing the run around with them and got nowhere at all. I've been with the company 6 years, never late, have a few months until the 150 rebate. What am I doing wrong. I really do need a smartphone.

I ordered my curve late Friday night so they just processed the order today got a tracking number but it still does not show up on UPS. I paid $279 because I read this thread, I called retentions originally was oferred $75 off the phone, then I hung up on her and one more person. I finally got a lady who made me resign a 2 year agreement from retentions then I got it for $279 plus $100 mail in rebate so I did really good, thanks to this thread!!! I only got the $279 deal because I told the lady I was promised the $279 by a retentions supervisor, which I made up, you have to BS these retentions people in order to get what you want. Now I just have to figure out how to get the BB service pack for free and I do have SERO and traded my BB Pearl to a nice kid on this website called Robzombie

This morning retentions went down to 300, i called again tonight and they wont budge past 525. I have been with Sprint for over 6 years, I find it odd that they are ready to let me cancel especially after they hemorrhaged over a million customers last quarter. The phones are so expensive to start with on Sprint and then you get crappy upgrade deals which you have to beg for through retentions. (ie curve on cingular is 350 full price, 99 for new customers, 600 on sprint, 180 for new).

Should be UPS. Their tracking numbers have always started with 1Z. Ironically enough, I'm getting the same thing as you when I enter my tracking number into their site. Depends on the CSR.. i assume at retention level where customer is at risk of leaving the company, they are going to type in some notes of their conversation.

Whoa, 7lbs!?!? That's crazy. I just checked my info on UPS.com (finally something other than red text shows up when I enter the tracking number) and it says mine is only 1.8. I have no idea of what you're about to be getting man, lol.

I'd keep trying. I was honestly ready to quit too, but I got a sweet old lady to help me out. I told her that the person I spoke to before her promised it for 279.99. She put me on hold a couple of times and then voila. We were able to do it. I made sure to get everyone's name too.

They keep telling me im not eligible for a upgrade so i would have to pay full price so im not sure why the site would be any different but I will definitely give it a try. Fortunately/Unfortunately I have multiple lines on my account....the one I wanted to upgrade wasn't available, so I had to use my other phone to do the upgrade.

To my knowledge, the # that was upgraded will have a new contract date.

Mine came at about 4:30 today and I could not be more impressed. This is the first phone I have had with Sprint Radio & TV. :)

I sold my BB 8830 on craigslist at 10:30 pm for $250 so assuming the rebate comes I will make about $50 on this upgrade and have a way nicer phone. :tu:

My Treo 700wx to BB Curve was easy through their transfer program.

Now i need to call back and add a BIS plan on both... in the mean time, i cant seem to install Opera MINI browser to get me by.... any ideas?

Yes, they did, but I never received the email. I had to call them the next day to get the tracking number. Or you can look it up on the website by going to your order history.

I'm in the same boat as you. Sprint told me that I should play the guessing game as to when I would get my phone. I was told that I should have had it yesterday, then I'm being told today. This is no fault of UPS, but that of SPRINT. It seems as if SPRINT doesn't want to look furhter into either.

Question: When you transferred your data from the Treo did you use the "Switch device wizard" thats included on the BB Desktop? I tried using it and after selecting "switch devices," where you would normally chose from Palm Desktop software or WM desktop software, both options were grayed out and not selectable. I had both my Treo and BB connected at the time. Did you happen to come across this issue while you were transferring? If so, how did you fix it so that you could choose "Palm Desktop Software?"

I think that's how it works, too. When I look at my order online, it shows the total of $1040 and some change (I ordered the Curve and the Centro for my wife), but the price I was quoted was around $250 ($179 for the Curve and $70 for the Centro). I'm not going to worry about it until I see my actual bill next month.

Ordered a Pearl 2 weeks ago, called Monday (5/12) to do an exchange. It was around 2:30 p.m. when I hung up with Sprint but the rep kept saying "you'll have it tomorrow sir". I figured she meant it would ship the next day. Checked my order status at 11 p.m. on Monday and it said "in progress", checked it at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and it was already out for delivery, that was nuts!

I called back a 3rd time. 3rd retention rep said the 2nd rep didn't input any credits. *** is goin on here?! She said she corrected it to finally show $179.99. I think you may be wasting your time. Those credits usually don't show up until the billing cycle closes, which could be why they couldn't see them. Sprint is really weird when it comes to credits and how they process them. I may be wrong though, but I'm still not going to worry about it unless it shows up that way on my bill.
