I think this is subjective. The phones software-wise are the same as far as i know. You have to ask yourself if you would prefer a smaller phone with predictive text or a slightly larger phone with a normal keyboard.

I Would have to say to get the Curve because it is newer than the Pearl, besides the fact they are both Blackberry and have the same features, the Curve has the full Qwerty keyboard, and the pearl does not.

Try out the SureType keyboard in a store and see if you like it. If not then get the Curve.

sure type is ok.. i'm not really a fan of the sure type keyboard because.......it's to hard to drive when you are typing.. even though you shouldn't be doing that in the first place.

I'm still trying to decide myself. Today is my last day to return the Pearl.
The Curve
+ full qwerty keyboard
+ 32MB more of memory ( 96MB total compared to the Pearl's 64 MB total ) = more apps
+ larger screen
- just over a half inch wider
- just a hair thicker
- a tad heavier
- $80ish more
- doesn't fit in my pocket with my wallet
the Pearl
- small suretype keyboard
- less apps ( less memory 64MB compared to curve's 96MB )
+ slimmer & lighter
+ fits in my pocket even with plastic case on it
Those are the only real differences i can think of off hand. I gotta make my descision before the store closes today. I'm leaning towards just keeping the Pearl because just because I have it all setup and i'm finally used to the suretype keyboard. What I really should have done is just hung on to the POS Samsung A900 ( not the a900m ) phone I had until the curve came out and either get a curve for 179 or bought a pearl on ebay for cheap without a contract. Oh well.. hindsight is 20/20. Either way I love Blackberry and will probably always have one from now on.

ive had both and when it really comes down to it, the main differences are the keyboard and the screen size, i liked the pearl but the screen was to small, that's the reason why i got the curve, the suretype isnt so bad, but it always is better to have a full qwerty. so my advice would be the curve. hopefully that could help u out
