View Full Version : Roaming on Power Vision - any extra charges?

I noticed that my Power Vision seemed to work while I was roaming, are there any extra charges involved or is it covered in my basic power vision plan? I'm concerned my $5 roaming option only covers phone calls and not data.

$10/minute.

j/k. if you have unlimited data and you are roaming, as long as you are getting a data signal, it should be included in your roaming with no additional charges. i am 99% sure but someone else may be 100%.

there is a limit to the amount roaming you can do per month but you may have to call customer service to fine out exactly and verify it maybe via email.

I have a similar set up $5 roaming with unlimited power vision and I have been roaming and used the web with no additional charges so I will agree with bikerrich69 you wont be charged.

As far as how much you are allowed when I got the roaming I was told that it is good for half the amount of your plan. So if you have a 500 min plan you get 250 min roaming covered by the add-ons far as data I don't know I have a 2500 min plan and I have never been charged for data roaming.

hmmm, so there's no difference if I'm calling or using the internet when roaming? So if I'm to get this straight when I'm on the Sprint network my data is unlimited but when roaming I'm limited to 500 minutes (1000 minute plan) of downloading? That's odd because 500 of watching Youtube and downloading large file sizes is quite different to 500 minutes of surfing news sites which downloads much smaller files correct?

No as far as voice call are considered you can use upto half of your plan. As far as data i don't know what the limit is or if there even is one.

The limit for data is if a majority of your kylobite usage is done while roaming.

It has nothing to do with voice roaming since you aren't charged per minute for data.

If you are data roaming more than half the time and you have a vision pack you won't be charged.

However, Sprint can take you off your vision pack or eliminate data access for you if they choose to do so.

has anyone been able to remove this limit through ecare and is it worth trying?

currently i HAVE to roam in order to use my phone in my house

also -- i just spoke to a rep who said if i roam during nights or weekends, it still comes out of my 500 weekday minutes -- is this true?

So I was out of town last week and using a lot of roaming data, so now that I'm back in native Sprint coverage I should use lots and lots of data so my usage is more Sprint than roaming? :p

That's only a semi-facetious question - you would have to hope that if someone's monthly usage was consistently 1K of data on Sprint and 2K of data roaming, Sprint wouldn't bother to terminate the account.
