I seem to spend a lot of my time text messaging. My current phone is a bit lacking for this. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good phone for text messaging. I have friends on other carriers with great text phones but I'm at a loss on the Sprint Phones. Thanks for the help.
LG Rumor is a text centric device.

Go to a sprint corporate store and play around some and send some text's because what is eazy and comfortable for you may not be for me.

True Matt the LG rumor is made more for texting from the limited use I have had with them. Also what kind of budget do you have and how advanced do want to get with a phone? Possibly a Palm Centro if you have small fingers.

Unless you want a smartphone then the LG Rumor is the way to go.

although I did get the hang of "T9" on my M610 I really like a full qwerty, I have a Q9 and text a good bit, in addition I send emails and post to forums (or is the plural fora?) for me a keyboard is nice, the rumor has that too but its not a EVDO device. something to consider, my sister works in an office and cant have her cell on, and unnecessary incoming calls are frowned upon but with my Q9 I can send her an email to her company mail that she gets right away at her desk, just like a text!! ;)

Oh, how I wish the Rumor was an EVDO phone! Does anyone know if there might be a new version in the near future?

Definitely get the Rumor if you aren't into smartphones/PDAs. Everyone I know that has a Rumor is satisfied with it. My only issue would be the vision vs. Power Vision.

Anything with a QWERTY keyboard is text-friendly. I like my Centro, too, because it does text message threading.

I had the Rumor for 11 days and had so many problems with it. I did like the phone but it kept shutting off and then whenever I would open the keypad it would connect to the internet instead of the text messaging screen. I thought it was just that phone so I got another one and it did the same exact thing but powered off even more. So then I was sent the Centro which is a nice phone but the keypad is very small which you have to get use to. I do love the threaded text messaging but I have to admit I am having problems with this phone as well. Maybe I navigate too quickly through the screens and the phone cant keep up but everytime this happens which is about 5 or more times a day the phone gets so frozen for about a minute and then tries to catch up which has the screen blinking like crazy. It's really getting on my nerves. The only other thing I dont like about the Centro is that the screen gets so much crud on it (the part right under the housing) and i can see it but i cant clean it and it drives me crazy. I'm so ready to go back to a regular phone. You can still do email, navigation, internet, on demand and I've never had a problem text messaging on a regular phone. Most people that text so much already have the keys memorized anyway. Call me picky but thats my 2 cents.

Pearl, Centro and upcoming Curve will be good texting phones. I like the exposed keyboard style more. The Q9c will get threaded messaging when the 6.1 update comes out, but its big and heavy.

Like everybody says, grab a Rumor. inexpensive, small, easy. spend $50 more and get a Centro.

My cousin got a Centro, and he is hooked! Uses text more than he ever has.

Treo 700W and the Rumor are great for texting.

I love my Rumor and wouldnt trade it for any other phone Sprint offers, except maybe for the Mogul. I have had it for a while and have not had one bit of trouble out of it. The only thing I would like to see is EVDO.

I do a lot of texting on the Samsung Ace if that is within the budget. For me, the pointy angles on the keys help prevent a lot of "fat fingering". I'd second the idea of just going into the store and typing on a few of the phones to see what feels right for you, though.

I really hate that Sprint has no chance of getting an awesome LG like the enV2. It's my dream phone, unfortunately. :/ Simplest phone ever on the outside, awesome multimedia and texting machine on the inside. Bah.
