Looking to change phones -- input appreciated.

When I went with Sprint in January I got the Touch. While it is a decent phone/PDA I have decided to go back to a Palm device for a little more stability.

I had a 600 in the past but did not have a data plan at the time. I have purchased a used 650 off ebay and am using it on my current Sprint plan.

So my choices are 700P, 755P or the Centro. I realize that it will be my personal preference that makes the final decision, but I would appreciate input from those of you using each of these devices.

I'm not currently using a Centro but that is what I'm going to buy here in the near future. I am currently with T-mobile and will be switching BACK (yes I did say back) to Sprint. Currently we (my partner and I) have a wing (mine) and a BB Curve (hers). I am very tired of the slowness of the WM on the wing, I am ready for something a bit quicker. I also don't need something as elementary as the WM. That's why I'm going with the Centro, it's about the same size as my wing, and I like the Palm OS.

My partner is going with the Centro cuz she likes the pink lol. That and she likes the size of it.

Not sure if it helps but it is why we are getting Centros. :)

From what I have read and the limited access I have had to palm's I would chose the Centro. It is the newest and has the most options.

I'm not sure that Sprint even sells the 700p anymore. I got one back in October and it was really difficult for me to find one (had to go 300 miles to find a store that actually still had some). I like it overall. Very simliar to the 650. Like the 650, the camera takes really horrible photos.

I would go with the Centro, I have the 700p and it locks way too much. The 755 is basically the same.

I would personally go with the Centro as well since the 755P and the Centro are basically the same device just in a different body. The Centro at least has a smaller form factor than the 755P. It all really just comes down to which style do you like better, smaller or bigger?

Personally when I was a palm nut, I loved the Treo. had, 600,and the 650. But I have heard from many truckdrivers that have used the centro that It has had a worse reception than their other phones. I had one about a week ago in springfield, OH, that had no signal, and I had a full signal with my Sprint phone, so I know there was signal. The Centro just seems to have a problem with signals if it gets too close to big buildings.

That's interesting, because my Centro has the best reception of any phone I've owned yet. My Upstage will have two bars in my house when my Centro has five.

I don't know about that. I get reception with my centro that I never gotten with my Krazr. I know that isn't saying much.

I suggest Palm 755p I found the Centro to small especially the screen for the touch feature & it seemed more like a toy smartphone for kids......

Thanks to everyone -- I went with the 755P and am really happy with it! I am getting good signal even where the Touch did not. And I really like be able to see the whole screen instead of it being partially covered up by the virtual keyboard.

Found a great deal on Ebay for this phone -- immaculate condition!

ok here my personal opinion the centro is like a "starter pda" ive played with it after having a 755p for 8 months and thought it was a joke and the 755p is so much nicer than the 700 new rom update available too

but

my ultimate opinion is that you wait for the treo 800w to come out its going to have wifi, the new windows mobile which has threaded texting which is what i loved about palm so now i might be inclined to switch especially because windows explorer is so much better than blazer

so if you can wait get the 800w if not id go with the 755p take this from a long time user of palm and the 755p

As a former owner/user of the 755p I would recomend this phone over the 700p and the centro. If stability is what you are looking for neither is that great, but functionality wise the 755p will perform and give more enjoyment out of your phone.:tu:
