Any one have any luck yet getting it to work on a regular phone?

I haven't kept up with Skype (as in your 2nd link ) but two months ago my son and I found that an older version 2.2.0.18 b which was NOT the newest at that time, works on the touch and mogul. good luck. YMMV

Not quite sure what you are getting at here... this was just released for java DUMB phones... there would be no older version.

I (and others) have so far gotten a "File not found" for the a900 version, both when using the phone, or trying to download to a computer... anyone have better luck?

They really need to update their Windows Mobile client. It doesn't work with any Sprint PDAs well.

Only if you're calling someone who is NOT using Skype. If they are, then the calls are FREE! Woot! It's a pretty kool program, I haven't used it in a while. But I used it when it first came out years ago.

Works best on a PC with high-speed connection. Call quality has gotten better with each new release. You can sign up for free and have a friend do the same to try it out. You will need a speaker(s) and a mic if you dont have a headset.

Not a problem... I actually meant to put "DUMB phone" in the thread title, rather than "PHONE", to make things more clear... I guess I was tired too. Perhaps I can get a mod to edit the title so it is clearer for everyone else.

Yeah, I doubt I would use it much, even when the "free callling" goes live in the US... it's just more tech stuff to play with is all.
I (and others) have so far gotten a "File not found" for the a900 version, both when using the phone, or trying to download to a computer... anyone have better luck?
Update: This will now download to the phone (about 300k) but will not install...

Skype - Skype calls... but it's moot anyways... 2 seconds after such a service would be available, Sprint will cap PV at 50 MB per month :indiff:

From what I understand, it's the way the phone routes the audio. Something like that. The same reason call-recording programs won't work well.
