Sprint Email Server Busy?

Anyone else having trouble getting email with Sprint Mobile Email app (Palm OS)? I'm getting an error message telling me the server is too busy. This has been going on for a few hours.

Yep, been doing this to me the last few days. It is getting really annoying as I rely on accessing my email on the go.

I am having this problem as well. The other error I get is that my password has expired. When I do enter it, I get the error that it is incorrect. I am getting really frustrated... it has worked so well in the past.

i tried deletingmy accounts to set them up again but then i get the error that the server is busy. any ideas???

I had to call Sprint Cust Svc at least 4 times to get a Trouble Ticket started for the same problem. I find it interesting how it took at least 4 reps to get me the right answer and a Trouble Ticket. Meanwhile, I got a call back less than an hour later from a rep, letting me know that apparently the Sprint Mobile EMail will be down for as long as 24 hours while they get 9 more IP addresses (?) And earlier, one rep wanted to do a hard reset on my Palm Centro. I'm glad that I hung up on that one.

I just did the chat thing and here was their response (nothing different than the last post):

"Thank you after reviewing the information currently there is a National Outage that will not allow you to obtain information to your email or access the internet. Engineers are diligently working on this issue to correct this. The ticket number is 2074575". We do not have an ETA when this will be working correctly. I apologize for the inconvenience.

This problem has happened to me a couple of times the past 2 months. I usually wait it out and things return to normal. If you're a busy person, waiting can be a real pain. I am wondering though, should a profile update be done regularly...say, once per month...or just try to do one when the phone starts to act up.

I've been having the same issue. Tried deleting it and got the same 'server busy' msg. Added my Gmail acct as a 'new' and was able to get thru. But the phone hangs on the original acct causing the 2nd one to not work.

Happening to me too on my 755. First on Gmail, which has been acting gay even on the computer, but now its happening with Yahoo. and then sometimes it will check and get my emails on its own. Strange and annoying. Someone fix it

Got the fix...! Found that I had to delete the Sprint Mobile email client and reinstall. After reinstallation, had to set up imapping with the correct port #s.

* Incoming Server: imap.gmail.com
* Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com
* Authentication: email@gmail.com + email password
* ‘Use secure Socket Layer (SSL)’
* Ports: 587 Outgoing, 993 Incoming

Correction!
Changed the outgoing server port to 465.

I had the same problem. Found that I had to delete the Sprint Mobile email client and reinstall. After reinstallation, had to set up imapping with the correct port #s.

* Incoming Server: imap.gmail.com
* Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com
* Authentication: email@gmail.com + email password
* ‘Use secure Socket Layer (SSL)’
* Ports: 465 Outgoing, 993 Incoming

I'm not clear on how imap is set up to gmail. On what platform do you establish the settings you are describing? on the 755p? or in the GMAIL account accessed through a PC log in?

You have to change the settings in your Gmail acct to use IMAP and disable POP.

Then you set up your phone per the steps outlined. Make sure you use the 'more choices' option then 'other IMAP' when you set up your phone using SME.

This is if you want to use IMAP's push feature. Really a nice one.

I use the Centro, btw. It's probably very very similar to the treo you're using.

On my sanyo 8400 it has simply quit working. An when I went to delete it, it said to purge all attachments or my memory will be pernamently used. So what does that mean ????
