I just received a call from a Sprint representative and on my caller ID it showed 1-866-463-3019. She asked me if my account was fine and if they could do anything to assist me to lower the price on the lines on my account. I asked what was the reason for her calling and she said just to make sure I was receiving the proper service. I said the only thing that I am waiting on is to exchange my 8830 for a Curve when it is released and she said hold on while she checks to see when it will be available and she then replied "You'll be able to exchange your current phone for a BlackBerry Curve on June 1, is there anything else i can assist you with?" After that I replied no and we parted ways.

I must admit that I did not expect that call at all and it kind of caught me off guard because the first thing she said when I picked up is that we were going to review my account together. But she said that I had a great plan... the Simply Everything... and that was all. I keep checking Sprint.com and nothing has changed online.

But the point of this post is to confirm that her system automatically showed her June 1 as a release date for the Curve. I'm pissed about that now!!!

okay so i had orginally contact eCare about possibly getting the curve as a replacement of my touch! here was the responses i got right... this was 4/11
yesterday an order was placed for a blackberry by sprint which cause my account to go over my limit and my service was turned off..it took them 3hrs to get my service back on and they still don't really know who ordered the phone or which blackberry i will be getting..!


IS THERE A WAY A CURVE MIGHT HAVE BEEN ORDERED FOR ME YESTERDAY???? the total for whatever phone was ordered was $660.41... i know the phone doesn't offically come out until tomm. through telesales.... in order to correct all this problem i'm going to have to reject whatever phone is being sent to me and then wait until sprint receives it back inorder for me to get a curve if it does indeed come out tomorrow... either way my account is screwed up and sprint doesn't know what is going on.....

I currently have the HTC Touch on my line ending in 2955 and am very
unsatisfied with the performance of this device.

I noticed the Blackberry 8330 Curve is headed to Sprint within the next
few weeks.

What I want to do, is send back my HTC TOUCH and have a 8330 sent out as
a replacement.

I had the HTC Mogul Prior to my touch and was told the HTC TOUCH was
comparable to it. I have had nothing but bad luck with this device and
came to the conclusion the blackberry is the ideal one. I am now on my
3rd TOUCH phone.

What I would like is for you is to order the Blackberry 8330 and arrange
a return kit for the HTC TOUCH. On receipt of the return kit, I will
send back the TOUCH handset at the address mentioned and the charge for
this phone should then be credited back to my account. This way, the
account will be charged only for the difference in charge of the two
phones (HTC TOUCHhandset and Blackberry 8330). I understand i will have
to sign up for the BB data which is an extra $30 on top of my current
plan and i am fine with that.

Please escalate this to a supervisor if you do not have the authority to

I don't know what SERO is but Sprint has the 30.00 data plan that gives you unlimited data,text,sprint nav, pretty much the stuff you need. If you ask nicely sometimes the rep can do a little digging and get U some incentives :).
I'm gonna resend my request to return my 8830 for the curve, maybe I'll get lucky and they'll have it to give :)

Yeah, I agree. I don't understand why people are downing us because we can afford to buy what we want! Hey, either manager your money better of get another job! :lol: I'm in a position to get pretty much whateven phone I want, but my problem is I can never settle on one! Im trying to get an 8830 in the interim as well. Just to hold me over until the Curve is available. I cant tolerate this 8703e anymore. Not that I have any problems with it, its just old and boring to me now, lol. My contract is up next month but I dont know what I should tell retentions and I dont want to get stuck and not be able to exchange it. Thanks in advance for any potential help.

slings laughing because he got a deal too. once i got a deal sling tried. retentions told him that they could not extend the 30 exchange date, but once i gave sling my account pin number so that the retentions rep could look it up, they saw that IT COULD BE DONE and gave sling a deal too.

everyone needs to reliaze that we dont need to abuse the system. you must have a ligit reason to get a deal. dont pm me if i dont know you because you CANT trust everyone. i know sling and he is creditable. so i gave him the info he needed.

what i would do if you just cant wait until the curve is released is just call them. if they say no.... well deal with it or call agian later. some reps are better than others. some people just luckout.

you need not to worry; the HTC Mogul handset is currently under
warranty. The HTC Mogul can be replaced with the Blackberry 8830

edit: I just called premier club sales and the gentleman said that there is no update, no date and no inventory.

One would certainly think so. After all, isn't how the Sprint franchise stores get their stock? Do you have a means of checking BP stock? I thought their website required logon & PW credentials to get to anything meaningful...

There is nothing on Brightpoint yet. The product doesnt even show up with a backordered status like Best Buy. It just isnt there.

Sprint was conducting additional testing to ensure a high-quality user

So, the information regarding release date seems to still be as scattered and all over the place as it was weeks ago, but at least now I feel better that I can exchange it without worrying about my 30 days being up.

What did you email them concerning the exchange? I just bought a Pearl myself on April 14th and I am definately leaning towards exchanging this for the Curve if thats possible.

LOL, I don't mind it if it gets the phone out faster but it didn't. It is what it is but at least this agent took time and looked for the information so I appreciated there work. Sprint CSR's get beat up enough so I appreciated someone taking the extra time to help out a customer.
