I want to post this question in a technology section but I did not find one. Please someone should help.

My cousin is in Ukraine and I sent a laptop to my cousin. To get connected at Vinnysta Ukraine, one needs to buy connection card. I purchased one HP laptop for my cousin but the laptop does not have a connection card slot. So my question is:: does anyone know of any device that can convert a usb port into a connection card slot so that my cousin can get connected to the web.

there are usb wifi/satellite cards available, so a pcmcia or express card (the thin card slot on most laptops) wouldn't need to be converted.

I did run across some converters that would convert that slot to usb, but they were all $150 and up.
Better off buying a usb card if usb ports are available.

hope that helps! :thought:
