I'm going to be out of contract in July and with that, I will be losing my loyalty discount and $5 credit for one of my lines. My bill will increase by $30 once I get out of contract. I was thinking about re-signing but I kind of like having the freedom of being out of contract but saving $30 a month is nothing to sneeze at. Also, since I'm in the new system, I don't think it'll let me renew the loyalty discount anyway.
This got me to thinking, what would make you guys resign another contract? New phones? Heavy discounts off of your plan? etc.

I would go out and price your plan with different carriers and see what it will cost to go to different carriers with similar phones, plan and features before starting the negotiation with Sprint. Just in case Sprint won't budge and you know what your options are.

That's a good idea. I was checking out Verizon and they've got some nice phones. The only problem is their plan prices. Also, it would be very hard for me to get the same price and plan anywhere else that I have with Sprint. With all of my discounts that I will be keeping after I get out of contract, I'll still be saving $65 a month (I was saving close to $100). No-one would be able to beat that and no-one, not even Sprint carries a F&F type of plan anymore.
Maybe I'll wait for a new phone to come out and try to get that.

If you're on SERO, I would re-up with that, great deal all around!

If only SERO had family plans. SERO is the best deal going, bar none. If I didn't need the flexibilty of my plan, I would get that and never give it up.

If your job offers a discount you may be able to replace the loyalty discount and that would not make you resign.

my contract is up mid June and I was wondering the samething.
funny thing is, I was just given a m520 for free with no contracts to sign.....
I had a a900 that has some issues, then they gave me a grey razor, then a gold one. Took the issues to a mgr at the store, since it took 6 trips to get 2 crappy replacement phones with on-going issues, he ordered me a m520 for free.
been debating what i want to do next, lol

I've got they job discount already and the loyalty discount stacked so I have 30%. The 15% loyalty expires in 2.5 months and I have a strong feeling that when I call in to try to extend it, I'm going to get a sharp "NO!"
I think that's the only reason why I didn't lose the loyalty discount yet. It's only going to last a short time so they'll just let it run out.

9yr acct and I'm only getting a discount for my job, but it's 27%
I am on a F&F plan though.
thought about asking for a loyalty discount, but I guess it would only ge good until my contract is up mid-June

Depending on how long you've been with Sprint, it's possible to get ecare to remove the expiration dates from the addons.... or even extend them now that Sprint has made it possible to make plan changes without extending contracts.
From there you can roll on contract free, or negotiate for phones.

Well, my main line is OOC on May1 st, so there is nothing they can give me to make me re-sign...lol. I already have my plan configured just the way it needs to be without a 2 year agreement hanging over my head! Took all of those 2 years to get it right - FINALLY

Just make sure if you're thinking about switching that the other carrier get good coverage wherever you live/work/etc. Also, take into consideration friends/family that have different calendars, because I know that my family all has Sprint, and we use a whole lot of free Sprint-to-Sprint minutes.

I'm probably not going to switch carriers. I can't get another Fair and Flexible plan anywhere else. Even Sprint won't give it out again so until it comes out again, I'll still be here. Also, my data and texts are free.

I meant carriers, not calendars, as I am sure you picked up on. I was thinking about trying to sync my calendar with my phone which was the whole reason I logged on.

you have the 6900 i assume, you could always try and get a decent discount on a new phone say like the 800w that's set to be released in the next couple months, if you're a treo fan that is. :tu:
