I have been with sprint for 5 + yrs under a family plan and want to join sero, I have tried contacting customer service and ecare and they wont let me get off the family plan and start my sero plan, I have a valid sprint emp e-mail address so getting it is no big deal, But i want to of course keep my #. So i have been reading and the best way other than constantly calling would be to open a new cheap plan or trail plan with a different carrier and port my # there and then sign up with sero and port my # back. Whats the best carrier to do this with to where it wont cost a lot to do

DO NOT USE! Boost Mobile, Virgin mobile, Quest Mobile, Helio, or any other Sprint company of MVNO. This will cause a delayed port time in some cases. Verizon ports I almost never see fail as much, from what I've seen Tmobile makes it a lil more detailed process (We need exact customer information. I'd go with either Verizon or Cingular they both have 30 day return policys and cheap phones to choose, even prepaid.

Go onto AT&T's site and search prepaid phones, you can usually pick one up for about 20 or 30 with free overnight shipping that includes a SIM. AT&T stopped including air time with their on line phones, so you might just want to goto walmart and pick one up there, I believe they still include air time in those packages. If you choose to buy on line, you can get a pantech phone for $10 and a card for $25. Port to AT&T prepaid and then back to sprint would probably be the easiest and cheapest way to go.

I was planning to port to and from Virgin Mobile because I already have a spare phone that is not activated. Any experience with using VM or reasons anyone has for not using VM? I can spend a few bucks and use ATT if there is a problem with VM.
I see the negative comment above but not sure why???
