Let's say 'hypothetically speaking' a retention rep offered me a family plan for 1200 minutes, and then another for 2000, and said 'well why dont you try the first one and if it doesnt meet your needs call us back'.

Now lets say I used the 1200 for three months but it didnt meet my needs. How long does that 2000 plan stand after the initial offer? Especially if I dont know if he noted the account?

p.s. Sorry if this should have been in Tips in Tricks as it is a retentions question

it depends, i have seen retentions plans setup to last as long as 2years. the only way to know is to call them and ask.

Well, this wouldn't be an retention plan, where the discounts come off after expirations, they're just old free and clear or fair and flex plans.

My question is more like, this guy three months ago said I could go with one plan or the other. Three months past, can I still go with the other?

ah, i understand now.

well they could expire as soon as you hang up if the previous rep did nothing to notate the offer on your account.

Remember, now the Account Services reps are expecting you to call in to cancel your account to get helped, so if you already have a SPECIAL plan, I would stick to "the script", and let them know you are calling to see about upgrading/downgrading your Special plan that you got from that dept., to see if the other one offered would still be avaiable?

I did that when I felt I was not using my 1500 minute plan, and called to see if they still had the many MOONS OLD 1000 minute, $40 plan and was set to be switched over the next billing cycle, but realized how stupid it would be to give up 500 minutes for $9.99 and canceled the transaction a few days later.

Good idea, I guess now I just need to decide if I really need that many minutes. Thx!
