not sure where this should go so i put it here. if i have to cancell my second line, how hard is is to do? i paid a dep on the second line, i belive it was 250. i may have to do this because lately things have not been going well with my girlfriend and i may need to cancel that line. i really wouldn't need two phones so there would be no point in keeping it open. of course this is all worst case scenario here i am hoping we work through it but right now it's looking pretty grim.

It's pretty easy to cancel the line. Just call them up and say you wanted to cancel the line. Of course, they will charge you and ETF (Early Termination Fee).
As far as the deposit, that might be more than enough to take care of the ETF, ask them. If you don't want to pay the ETF, just put a basic plan on that line, that way, you're only paying $10 a month for the duration of it's contract. Depending on how much longer the contract is, paying the ETF may be your best interest. But I don't think anyone here likes to spend $200 at once as a fee.. they'd much rather spend $10 a month for 2 years rather than $200 at one time.
Hope everything works out with you and the girl.. good or bad, it works out the way it's suppose to. Take care

You can always split up the fam plan into 2 lines and try a TOL to someone else, giving them your girl's phone for free. it works out for everyone. You don't have to pay the ETF, and they get a free phone and they aren't in a 2 year contract

I had a tech rep. today offer to move my mom's hardly used line to a "seasonal" plan, which she explained to be a six month plan. Our family plan expires in September this year. She said it basically keeps the phone in service for $5.99 a month, and each minute is $0.75 a minute and long distance is an additional $0.20 each. This way, when the contract is over, I can just cancel that line. You might try to contact Sprint about this and see if they'll let you do that.
I don't know when your contract's out. I hope this helps.
And I hope everything works out.

Account services is acctually instructed to add to the time remaining on your contract any time you spent on the seasonal Plan. Time on the seasonal 5.95 DOES NOT count towards contract term, and you're gonna be in for some hard times when you try to cancel. The person who told youthat was just telling you something to make their job easier.

Well dangit.....
just when I thought Sprint customer service was starting to improve.
Guess I should've suspected something when she also told me I could keep my phone number once I switched to Sero. Oh well. Disregard what I said then. My apologies.
