If being a power user on WM is possible with all its bugs lol.
Good deal. I miss my touch and often want another one, but with the M800 coming out soon, I think I can hold off for a while. But mark my words, I will own a Touch again...
Anyone wanna trade some car audio for a Touch? :)

if i get this with a contract extension do i have to activate it or can i just sell it?

From what I understand, you will have to activate it on one of your lines for at least 30 days to get the $100 mail in rebate. After that, you should be able to do an ESN swap back to your regular phone.

Hey all,
just received the touch that I paid $99 for :-) Last thursday I called retentions (my 6th call within two days) and finally got a woman who would give me the touch for $99. I've been w/ sprint for 4 years, we have 6 lines on a family plan... Basically all I did was mention that letstalk.com offer I had seen, and most of the reps kept saying "its a 3rd party site and that deal is only for new customers, we can't honor that" , and I just kept going through the same thing until I got the lady who said "well, $149 is the lowest price we can do on the actual phone, but let me try to give you a $50 credit on a bill to make the touch $99 for you" And she did :-) Now I just have to try to figure out how to use the darn thing and tether it. I'm new to WM and PDAs.

Man you got lucky i call retention they wouldnt budge for me cant get for $99. My contract was comin to an end too.The lowest i can get is $249.The rep told me they dont match letstalk.com.I had to end up signing 2yr and jus waited it out to use my upgrade at another time.

Yeah, like I said, I called at least 6 times. Most of the reps said the $249 to me as well, then some said $199. ONE rep out of the first bunch I called gave me the $149 price and noted it on my account. It all just depends on the rep you speak to..just hang up and keep trying

Same thing happened to me, I'll keep trying. I can't get them to budge on the $249 even with the letstalk reference. I should have waited to sign another 2 year contract.
Damn I musta got real lucky...cuz it turns out I didn't even end up renewing my contract. My contract expires in July of this year :-) Just keep trying, it all depends on who you talk to. And if you talk like you're "expecting" to get a certain price, you probably won't..just act like you're considering switching carriers, etc.. Thats what worked for me at least.

They're offering it for $99 after $100 mail in rebate for contract extenders. Why are you guys trying to get it from Sprint instead?

I thought I heard some people say that it doesn't really matter what plan you pick from Letstalk but as long as you activate it on your current line AND keep your current plan is all that matters. Is that not the case?
Like the others, I think my plan is far BETTER than what Letstalk is offering and I won't hesitate to extend my current contract to get Letstalk's prices. But I don't want to be forced into Letstalk's plans.
Has anyone had experience keeping their current plan but still getting Letstalk's prices through their website? When you go through the motions of the purchasing, you're forced to pick one of their plans so that's why I was wondering. I know there is the option of trying to get retentions to match Letstalk's prices but I'd rather not go through the hassle.

Not sure if this is a problem with the phone(s) or letstalk overall but... (well, in at least one respect there is definitely an issue with Lets Talk - that being lack of communication)
I placed an order for a Sprint Touch. new activation, Simply Everything plan last Wednesday. Their first of 4 steps for order completion, the credit check. was completed in perhaps 30 minutes. The order then went to step 2 : "picking and activation".
Thursday morning the order was updated to say the phone was "picked" and was now being activated. Perhaps an hour or so later activation was complete, and the order moved into the third stage "ready to ship".
Not having received shippin confirmation by Friday morning, I checked the order status again. Not only had the order not gone to the 4th step "shipped" but was back at stage 1 - credit approval!
I called them up, asked what the deal was, and was told that during activation the "tech" was not able to get the onscreen keyboard to pull up. If they don't have another one in stock, I'd have to pick a different phone. The rep then went to check with someone to get any additional details that were available - came back and pretty much back-pedaled on what he'd just told me. Not that what he said was inaccurate - more like he'd been told he shouldn't have told me what he did.
Anyway, he said they had more units in stock, would activate another unit and get it out ASAP. Fine.
Sure enough, the order began moving through the stages again - picking, activation, "ready to ship" by Friday afternoon.
No shipping confirmation email Saturday morning, assumed they'd just mised the Fedex pickup. Perturbed that it would not be Monday before the phone shipped, but great price, so I could deal.
Went to the website just to be sure - guess what? Order is back to step 1!
Later that afternoon, order had been "picked" again, phone activated again, phone "ready for shipping" again.
Sunday morning, you guess it - step 1!!! Still in "picking" status - even though they apparently are open on Sunday, either they ran out of phones or they don't pick/activate on Sundays.
I didn't bother calling them, spent the time doing research on different phones, comparing prices, etc; Will call tomorrow, most likely to cancel. (all the other Sprint smartphones seem to have issues/features that I'm not comfortable with)
Long story short, they apparently have picked and activated three different Touch handsets, apparently none of which worked! Bad batch? Problem with the Touch in general Selling returned/refurbed/boken handsets as new? A more systematic problem with this merchant?
Also, the complete lack of communication does not build confidence! The first time, not a biggie, but the second, third, and now fourth???
At this point I'm not terribly comfortable with either the Touch or the merchant! I'd go to Sprint directly but would have to spend another $100 - and get my credit report dinged again? (the Equifax credit pull is already showing on my report) Neither is a huge problem, but the latter in particular is very frustrating to even try a phone/service. If I then decide I want to go to VZ and get their version of a Touch - dinged again. Three credit inquries for a phone!

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that. I don't work for them, but just thought it seemed like a good deal. That's why I posted it up there. Do they have to keep running your credit though? Seems like they should just swap ESN's if they keep getting bad phone...no need to run you credit over and over.

No, no, great deal (well, on paper!) so perfectly legit thing to post about!
And no, Let's Talk is not re-running my credit each time (at least they better not be, and I haven't gotten notification of any re-runs via my credit monitoring services)
My concern is if I cancel this order, then order from sprint.com (same phone, package) then THEY will re-run the credit. Just assuming a different "merchant" is going to re-run it ... but since Sprint is the entity that pulls the credit, maybe the won't need to do it again, particularly in such a short period of time, since they obviously have the credit score and already approved it per their standards... That would make sticking with the Touch/Sprint more palatable, no doubt.
Plus, I get a $50 corporate discount credit if buying from sprint.com, and free activation (Lets Talk is $36) so in the end it would only end up costing me another $64. (assuming they still have the same rebates they did last week) Should have gone with them to start with methinks!

Don't want to hijack this thread - but if you care to see an update on my experience with this merchant, for this phone, on this $99.99 promotion, please see http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1782069#post1782069
