I am out of contract on my sero..I am currently on the sprint side and want to go to the nextel side with a hybrid. Is there a simple way to do this without losing my number? I thought about adding another line and seeing if they could swap the numbers and cancel the old line. What is the easiest way to do this?

if u want to go to a hybrid nextel u WILL REMAIN on sprint actually...just buy any powersource phone the cheapest u can find and go into a sprint store and tell them u are swapping phones. they will call sprint in store and phone rep will have to make a couple changes on their side it should take about 20 minutes and wont cost nothing and u will remain out of contract.
now the easiest way to do this would be to just upgrade ur current phone online via sprint.com/sero and have the system do all the work automatically as they ship u ur new phone for free...only downside is u will have to sign a new 2 year contract if u r good with paying advertised specials unless u want to pay retail for 0year contract

btw i know this because i was with nextel before then i switched to hybrid and they told me hybrid= sprint for cellphone and nextel for radio so that meant i would be changed to a sprint account...but then i switched from hybrid to sprint only and that was no problem as i remained sprint to sprint

Ok, so I should just get a phone from another source. I really want to keep my same number. The cheapest Hybrid I can get is for 154 and thats signing another 2 year contract.

The IC602.... It seems to be the one with the highest rating on phone scoop

It looks like the ic602 is:
New Phone & Plan Pricing
Regular price $289.99
Instant savings -$150.00
Mail-in Rebate -$40.00
New price $99.99
so about $140 before a $40 rebate direct from Sprint with a 2 year agreement.
This is the same price listed on just sprint.com and also same price under the sero website, only benefit with sero should be no shipping or activation charge.
I would highly suggest you email ecare. Tell them you are currently with Sprint and out of contract, your phone has been giving you lots of problems lately and you would like to move your line over to a hybrid sprint/nextel phone. Tell them you have been eyeing the PowerSource ic602 for a while now and see that it is available to new customers for $99 after rebate online. Ask them if they would be willing to upgrade you to that phone and keep the same plan for $99 out the door with no rebate and you will gladly return your old phone (if this is what you want to do, or sell it back to them).
If they say no then write back and say you are willing to extend your contract for as long as they wish (they will max at 2 years but it sounds good in your name) if they can make a deal with you. Let them know you are happy with sprint and you just want to get the most out of all the services they offer now and you would like to stay with sprint for a long time, be friendly.
eCare is usually really helpful with this sort of things and it should work, you should only need to write one email and not BCC all the ecare addresses, I suggest using the contact us button on my sprint.com and then email when you are logged into your account.

the camera in the 902 i really nice...when i got my phones a few months ago the 602 wasnt out yet so i cant comment on that one but if it has the same camera as the 902 then its probably pretty good, plus its rugged. the mp3 player and web browser was nice on the 902 for being a cellphone
