I was an existing nextel customer who was interested in the sprint simply everything plan, so I go into the store and the guy reccomends the LG Rumor, because with my old phone (nextels moto. i880) I couldnt take advantage of half the stuff i would be paying for, like sprint tv, music, gps, etc... so I wasnt sure and end up ordering it in a different store a few days later and get it the next day.... well... no tv or music and whatnot... so i call tech support and they tell me its a vision phone, not a power vision, and therefore i cant get any of that fancyness on my phone. One of the tech support guys did say he saw his co worker with a new rumor that had power vision, he said it might have just come out and wasnt in stores yet.... is there anything i can do, or does that phone even exist?

Haven't seen a powervision Rumor....

If you're within the 30 days, just return the phone, and have them put the service back on your old phone, or pick up a nice Power Vision phone that will take advantage of all the features of the simply everything plan. :)

Nope, no EVDO for the phone. Maybe it's your best bet to call Customer Service and politely complain how the Sprint rep lied to you about the phone and tell them you are unsatisfied with the phone.

Or you can do that too!

I could but I love my rumor already... does anyone think they will be making a power vision rumor any time soon or its just not going to happen? my plan is 100 dollars a month and i guess its worth it for the things that i can use... like unlimited internet, text, picture mail, and talk... but i feel kinda cheated since he told me I could do everything...ugh can they seriously get away with lying like that?

I seriously doubt that they would come out with a PV Rumor now. Only time they would do that is when they come out with a redesigned, completely new Rumor, and that's probably not in the near future...

I was sold on the exact same speech. It's cheap and look at all this **** you can do! But I was paying $15 for unlimited data at the slow data speed, no tv, radio, or EVDO. Although it did allow java apps from places like getjar.com. So I took it back a week later and got a Q9C and I love it!!! It is everything I want in a phone and more! I still don't get streaming music from sprint but I get the tv, GPS and EVDO and a much larger screen to browse with. As for music I stream over data to my phone from places like tuned.mobi.

I don't think that the Rep lied, rather they were mis-informed or there was a mis-communication resulting in mis-matched needs.

My advice to you and anyone else interseted in purchasing a new phone is to do some research on line. Figure out what you are needing/wanting and then find a phone that has those features. Knowledge is power.

The good news is you are with in your 30 day period, so you can exchange the phone for your dream phone of your choice.

I just went through an experience with a rep over the phone. Went to sign up for the Simply Everything plan and was told international calling would be included. Asked several times to make sure. He said he even checked with his supervisor....yeah

I recommend this to every single person who gets online and chats with us, to make sure they research before they chat to ensure they're aware of what comes with what. I know this is the one main reason Sprint has the worst customer service, but not everyone is bad at their job in Sprint, that I promise you.

Sorry to hear you all got such a bad experience, let's hope this gets fixed in the near future.

I had the same problem. Before purchasing my phone I talked with several reps and they all confirmed that my Rumor would be compatible with music, tv, etc. I purchased the phone, but unfortunately not through Sprint. I was on with tech support for 3 days and they couldn't figure out why none of the services were working. I finally took it into the store and they took one look at my phone and said it wasn't compatible. You'd think that as a requirement for working at Sprint, you should know the products. I guess common sense isn't common.

Thats why when I had my Nextel and was considering upgrading I was introduced to SprintUsers.com. Came here researched and got exactly what I wanted and never looked back. I like my phone so much I have a spare ready to go.
