Hey everyone, I had recently received a Palm Centro and am on the SERO plan with Sprint. For the first week that I had the phone everything worked fine, I was able to surf the internet, watch Sprint TV, get my emails with versamail as I have it set up to download every hour or so. However, the last few days, 4 or 5, I have not been able to do any of that, the connection is horrible. I get full bars on the phone but when I try to do data, it takes forever. Even going to google.com would stop at 3k or 5k or so, and after refresh x25 it goes through, but the same then for searches.

Has anyone had this problem with their service in the last few days?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

I've just noticed today that my PowerVision connection was extremely slow, to the point of it being unusable. Btw, I'm on a HTC Mogul (Windows Mobile), so I think it's not platform specific, and may be a similar issue to the one a couple of months back? Anybody else with horrible data speeds??

You all might want to check with tech support to see if the coverage area is in work progress of being fixed. Some outages to occur as technicians work on outer locations. Cities have the big affect right now due to the overload of network use for data users so be prepared for a hog that will last for the next 48 hours.

DFW area has been extremely slow today (Power Vision.) Only getting 40kbit d/l speeds. usually get 200 to 300k.

Had a bad storm come through last night, not sure if it affected anything.

The connection drop could also be due to cloudy areas blocking tower connection or outages in that local area.

The only issues Network wise that have been reported for anywhere in Texas have been voice related. Two of the things that I've seen that have been causing slow data are:

1. A Disabled EVDO network Status in the system called Servicepro

2. A setting lower than 13 for 3G non data assured in ESM

You can call into tech support and ask them to verify these settings. But be prepared to be transferred numerous times and met "we don't have access" or just being outright told they don't know what you are talking about. But be persistant. This might fix your problem..

Edit: Bypass tech support. Ask for ATS.

Things are back to normal today. I usually don't call to report anything unless it lasts for more than 2 days.
