You can't transfer your account or # ( i'm 99.9% sure of that) to a SERO plan. SERO plans are for new lines of service only. If you head over to the web page it outlines all of the details.

If you're out of contract, sign up for new lines under SERO and cancel your old lines. If you're under contract, wait until it/they expire.

I was wondering the same thing...so, basically, what you guys are saying is that if you are currently a Sprint subscriber, you can't get a Sero plan without changing your number? That sucks.

SERO is a referral offer. if you're already a sprint customer, sprint doesn't need anyone to refer you to their company, so why should they give you that plan?

Well, it just seems silly that I could let my line go out of contract, and get the plan. Bottom line, I'm a consumer, that is looking to get the most for my money. Why should someone who's new to the company get a better deal than I have, even though I've been with the company for six years? Get real. Why do so many people on here have to give smarmy, self-righteous sort of answers?

why should a new customer get a better deal? because that's the way a company gains new customers -- by offering incentives. current customers are offered a different set of incentives, such as loyalty discounts. additionally, if a customer is actually considering switching to another provider, the retentions department will often offer various discounts.

to the specifics, yes you could let your line go out of contract and sign up for the SERO plan. you would lose your phone number if you did that. if that's not important to you, then there's an option for you.

Point is, that's silly. Sero plans weren't available 6 years ago. It's silly, in my opinion, to not allow long time subscribers have the same deal that a new customer can get. I would like to keep my number...what if I went to Verizon/AT&T/whoever after my contract expires, and port my number to that line, then open up a new account at Sprint, as a Sero plan, and port the number back? Could I do that? Don't pretty much all carriers have the canel within 30 days thing?

Do a search on this very topic. There is a very good thread that discusses OOC, getting SERO and keeping your number but the SERO rules are new customer or current customer with a new line activation. You also need a valid Sprint employee email - forum rules - you cannot initiate a thread to beg for one. Read the SERO threads - lots of information there.

That said - a current line has been converted BUT it really is luck of the draw. Once thing to remember - NO discounts on SERO but a number of people have received them. However if and when Sprint removes the discounts, you have to remember they were not supposed to be allowed anyways and be grateful that you had them as long as you did. By discounts I mean NVP, loyalty, other credits, etc. YMMV

Hell, just call them up and see what they`ll do for you.

Most definantly. You just have to open the SERO plans as new lines of service.

You can either add them as additional lines; or you can (if you have the option) to cancel your current lines/numbers, and get SERO plans.

Another option, if you would like to keep your number is to port out to another carrier, and then port in with a new account (and sign up for SERO as a "new customer")

All ways are valid... just depends no how much trouble you want to go through...

Right...but the only way to keep your current number is to port out to another carrier, and then port back into Sprint as a "new customer" getting a Sero plan, correct? I have a legit email already, from a Sprint rep at my Sprint store.

I don't see why people who want it, can't just add a new SERO line to their account? Cheap maybe? I did not cheat the system to get sero. Didn't even have to use an email address. Just called the sero number online, told her I wanted to add a 2nd line to my account, a SERO one, and it was done. Why can't you just call the # on the sero site and inquire? I'm sure they can get some a 2nd line without providing an email address.

You can add a second, or third, or whatever line, and make it a Sero line. I just would rather not lose my number, that's all.

Read the recent thread on porting to prepaid. There is a very detailed explanation of how to do it with a particular prepaid. Set up the SERO first as a second line on your account. READ the thread - explains very precisely what happens and how to do it. You must be OOC on your current line otherwise you will incur ETF fees.
