if I receive a txt from another sprint user, am I charged? reason why I ask is that it just appeared on the screen from my brother in law. thanks!

Yes. Texting does not work like mobile 2 mobile. Regardless of being on the same network, you will be charged each time you text or recieve unless you have text included in your plan and then that would just come out of your bucket of text depending on what you have for a text plan.

Yea, all incoming/outgoing texts are charged, unlike T-mobile

short answer yes, if its only a few you would be hard pressed to notice its only like $0.15 ea. if you get a buttload of spam ones you could ask for a credit, if its just one or two from a buddy it might not be a problem to absorb the whole 30 or 45 cents... if you have been a sprint customer a long time you can ask for 500 free a month and you might get it.

texts are actually 20cents/msg now.

that's the thing with texting. you can't really prevent people from texting you without just blocking them altogether. if you expect to get a lot of texts from people, you might want to just add on a messaging plan. if you have a current power pack plan, it's only $10 for unlimited messaging.
