I am just curious, how do some of you on here get such good plans(with perks)?
I am a Sprint Fan, been with them over 5 years with a 5-line plan 1400 anytime minutes, nights and weekends after 7, web, etc. 2nd line free and $10.00 each for the 3 other lines, total bill for all 5 lines runs me about $130 a month. I never use anywhere close to 1400 minutes 'cause most of mine are Sprint-to-Sprint so that helps so I called today to try and get a better plan and keep the minutes but no go, so I cut it down to the $59.99 (won't go into effect until May) plan to save some bucks but I'm still going to be over $100.00 with less minutes thinking that if I go over the 550 they just tack on another 5 bucks for each 100 minutes I go over ( I am a little paranoid with just 550) but was told they don't do that anymore.???
They tell me you have to add the $5.00 on to your bill whether you go over or not to cover it if you do go over but that doesn't make sense to me. That is like giving them 5 bucks for nothing, just wondered if anyone knew how to get a great plan with out paying out the ying-yang!!!
3 of my lines expire in September so I am probably going to let them go unless I upgrade one of them, but does anyone know how I could upgrade one of them now with 5 months to go?
Probably not feasible, but just wanted to ask anyway..........

When you call, speak to Retentions. They'll probably offer you something you'll end up being happy with.

It would probably also help to call in closer to when you go out of contract.
Of course, also don't be surprised if they don't give the farm away and go ahead and let you go...they aren't giving out the freebies like they used to these days.

Well, it won't break my heart, I don't need 5 lines anyway but I wouldn't mind getting a new phone on one of those 3 lines before then, but don't have to

You could always find out if you're eligible for either the $75 or $150 rebate on a new phone. That's always an option too I suppose.

the 75 is bullcrap
if you're not 150 eligible, i'd buy a phone off ebay.

Sprint is willing to give "such good plans" based on several things, first your overal value to Sprint, second, how many times you have call in/contacted Sprint, third, how often you pay your bill/paying your bill on time, fourth, how long you have been with Sprint.
In short, when you call in or stop at a store, they see a number of $ behind your name, the more $ signs, the more valuable you are.
Sprint will do what it takes to keep a valuable individual, for example one that has a high minute account and dosen't use 1/2 of the minutes.
It also helps if you are out of contract, near the end of contract, because each person they retain then they can count that as a new subscriber.
Just keep a positive attitude when contacting Sprint, have a list of what you want and be pepared if you threaten them with cancelling to be able to back that up and be willing to cancel.
