here is my situation: i signed up with sprint on the fair and flex plan in sept 2006. in november, a 10% monthly discount was added to my account. in july of 2007, i switched to the SERO 500 plan and my 10% discount was carried over. this past january, the 10% discount was removed. i just sent ecare an email and they said that since SERO is a discounted plan, they cannot add any more discounts.
i'm quite bummed about this - does anybody have any suggestions? is it true or did i just get a stiff CSR?
any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Rumor has it that Sprint is now removing discounts and some credits from SERO plans as the plans are not supposed to be discounted as it is.

OP:
Here's a tip on how to beat Sprint at their own game. Get FREE stuff (services, options, etc.) added to the account that doesn't subtract directly from the regular MRC. I've done that for years (with the exception of the $5.00 credit I receive for 7PM) and I'm very happy.

Technically, under Sprint rules, a SERO plan is not supposed to receive additional discounts for NVP and loyalty. That said, discounts on SERO have been received by many people. Even without the discount, $30 is hard to beat for 500AT minutes, unlimited 7pmN&W, unlimited texting and unlimited vision. You could try to get additional addons in lieu of the $3 discount you lost per month. As another poster noted, there is a rumour floating around that SERO plans will be cleaned up - yours might have been one of the first ones. You could call and ask if your 10% loyalty had expired since it isn't showing anymore.

same happened with me...had nextel...merged to sprint in june 07 and converted to sero always having corp discount...then in jan/feb my discount disappeared.
well after 30+ calls to sprint and numerous emails i finally had exec services call me and after 2 days he got me off sprint into a similar plan he built from the ground up and im guaranteed to get my corp discount back on there and any other promised credits. my bill will actually be around $15 cheaper than i was paying for 2 sero lines in the past few months

Excellent point, I've noticed other people in here with custom built Sero clone plans and cheaper too. As you noted that's a way around Sero limitations!:Popcorn2:

Yes, I would call cs and ask for a perk, the worst they can say is no.

i had 30 plus calls to them. within those calls i had 2 or 3 retention reps promise me credits. they applied them to my account but within my past bills they were never posted. i finally emailed ecare with all the details of what happened and they escalated my issue to an ecare supervisor...he credited back $99 (a portion of the credits due) but then i replied discussing the other credits promised to me due. so he escalated my issue to Executive Services and they called me the same day. Then that gentleman fixed all my problems.
they never one threatened me to shut down my accounts however a few reps i spoke to during my course of problems gave me the option of switching to a crappy non discounted account, not changing a thing, or canceling my account.
i would suggest u call executive services and ask them to switch u into a similar plan that allows u to receive your employee discount so that ur bill remains the same or lower than what it has always been

That is very common with CS and has happened to me many times. Remember the phrase "if their lips are moving"........You know the rest don't you?

I hope I don't have my employee discount remove. I believe as long as I don't call or contact CS, then I should be fine. I hear people calling and emailing asking for other perks and ended up with their discount remove. I'm paying less than $26 after taxes for my SERO plan. Best deal I ever have.

My contract is up around july/august this year...
I have not called or emailed for almost 2 years since I built my plan because of fear of getting stuff removed.
I have:
SERO 500 AT with all the PV/Picture Msg
500 text
6pm Nights
FIMF (first incoming minute free)
Employee state discount (forgot what percentage)
Loyalty discount (forgot what percentage)
Some 800 number I called that gave 5 or 10 dollars off my bill (forgot when it expires)
My bill after discounts = $18.xx
My dilemma now is, I want to sign up for another 2 years with a new phone BUT I wanna keep my bill/account the same with all these perks lol...
I don't even know how to word my email to ask to extend my expiration dates for another two years because of all the stuff they added on! They might just take one look and start taking apart my account..
Expiration dates are for sure coming and my bill will start going up.. any suggestions on what to do before its too late?

Rinnegato...if you are ok with the prices online for phones when you are logged in to sero website with your sprint account, then i would say the safest bet would be to just order an upgrade online and let the system extend your current contract....if you have expiration dates on some of the discounts then they will most likely end after a few more bill cycles but should remain for a while if you are still within your 2years right now. the employee discount wont expire...the loyalty discount may or may not expire depending on the rep that set it up but if one does go away you may be able to email ecare and get it put back on...

You have to remember though, SERO accounts are NOT supposed to have additional discounts on them so you could potentially lose the loyalty AND the NVP. I asked last night what it would cost to add 6pm N&W to a SERO plan and she told me $20! You have an excellent deal right now but realize the extras CAN go away because they do not meet the SERO plan "rules". There is no guarantee that they will stay - if they do go away, consider yourself lucky to have had the benefit for so long. Good luck.
