Just got a Samsung A-900 Blade from eBay. Problem?

Hi all,

I won a Samsung Blade A-900 from eBay last week and it arrived today. Very minty looking condition. The battery had been removed and was shipped separately in the box. I put it in and the phone came right on, no problem. I checked around, looking for ringers and stuff, then headed off to the Sprint store to get the phone number switched over from the old phone to the Blade.

The girl in the store shut my old phone off and was about to do something when she called Sprint and they told her they couldn't switch it today because they were "moving" my account or some such garbage and I would have to come back tomorrow and then they can switch it.

OK, so I came back home and decided to put it on the charger. It wouldn't boot up at first but it's on the charger and it keeps beeping. My son has one identical to this one and he said his has never done this before. Do you have any idea why it's beeping?

I am wondering if it's beeping because it thinks it's in roam? It was in Florida and I am in Missouri.

Strange question. The phone started beeping like it was in roam and continued throughout the entire charging... except it never charged. I guess the battery is shot/dead? I had it on the charger for over 8 hours, as soon as I disconnected it from the charger, the beeping stopped and the phone will not turn on.

I didn't think the Sprint store was gonna level with me, ya know? They were already rolling their eyes at me cause they wanted me to buy something for $300 or more.
