View Full Version : I think Sprint seriously cheated me. Help!

I'm a little confused about my sprint bill, and I think I may have been tricked and cheated into thinking I was getting the good deal I was promised.

Here's a copy of the lines on the bill followed by an explanation, hopefully you guys can help me understand it:

Balance Summary
Previous Balance..........................$488.67
Total Adjustments........................-610.57
Total Payments............................-441.10
..............................................____ ____
...............................................-$563.00

-------------------------------------------

Monthly Service Charges.................$146.68
Additional Usage Charges & Purchases 15.54
Other Charges................................549.99
Other Credits & Adjustments.............-99.99
Taxes, Surcharges & Fees..................59.40
................................................._ ______
.................................................. $671.62
Total Due By Feb 26.......................$108.62

Okay, pretty confusing, I know...
So the deal is that I was offered an htc mogul for $100 by retentions. The $549.99 charge is for the phone, and they said they would apply credits so there was no charge for it since I paid the $100 on a credit card seperately.

It seems like that was taken care of with the huge credit at the top, and it should be fine, BUT on the next month's bill there is a $250 charge that says "30 Day Temporary Credit Reversal Feb 15". This means to me that I suddenly paid $350 for the phone and have been ripped off.

If that is confirmed here I will definitely bring the bill into a sprint store and have them look it all over and try to credit me the money back, but maybe I'm just confused (not hard to be with sprint's bills).

I would greatly appreciate any insight you guys/gals have, and let me know what other info you need to figure out the situation.

Thanks a lot!!!

I can't really tell what you are disputing by the information that has been posted. It looks like your current bill is 108.62, which seems about right.

If something change's after that, don't waste your time going to a store as they are not going to be able to help you, you would have to get back in touch with retentions and have the proper adjustments made.

If you don't think you're going to get your money back then you better return that phone within 30 days or you're stuck with that bill.

Yeah everything looks right on that bill, it's on the next month's bill that there is a "30 Day Temporary Credit Reversal Feb 15" for $250 that is the problem.

Thanks for the info about the sprint store's inability to help, that will save me some time.

Unfortunately it's been more than 30 days, since it was the second bill since getting the phone that the credit reversal showed up. I do love the phone, so I hope they're able to get things straight for me. Thanks for the tip.

Just thought I'd update this thread with the conclusion of the issue in case someone in the future is interested.

Upon the advise given above I called CS rather than going into a sprint store. The rep saw that the credit was reversed but there was no note saying it was supposed to be permanent. So I had to explain to them every single charge and credit on my account, and basically do all the math for them until lthey saw that I had paid for the phone with a credit card, and the credits on the account really should add up to the charge for the phone.

In the end that person couldn't issue a $250 credit so they transfered me to retentions, and I had to explain once again the whole story line for line on the account. Luckily the retentions rep there knew what she was doing and made it right.

Ok, everything's back to normal, thank you retentions reps.
