Hi,
I am not eligible for a discounted phone from Sprint, but wanted to update my Katana DLX to a centro. I see quite a few on ebay, but I was wondering if I bought a new phone from ebay, had it activated to my current phone number... would sprint still honor the one year manufacturer's warranty on the device, since I did not buy it from a Sprint store? Also, do you think I would be able to add TEP to the new phone, since I don't already have it?
Thanks!

I know the TEP thing can be done. I don't know about the mfg. warranty, I've honestly never used it.

as long as the phone has not been activated prior, you have a full year from the date of original activation for manufacturers warranty that sprint should honor, no matter where you bout it from.

The manufacturer's warranty is up to the manufacturer.
If you don't have insurance, and don't want to pay the repair fee, that's probably the best option. Sprint has nothing to do with the manufacturer's warranty.

TEP is the best 7.00 you will EVER spend.

Well, before I purchased my phone on ebay, I decided to email E-care just to see if I could get a discount directly from Sprint. :headbang2 Lo and behold, they offered me the Centro for $250 (cheaper than what it would have cost me on ebay). So, luckily I was able to purchase directly from sprint. I definately will be getting TEP on it. Ahh, now I just have to wait patiently for it to arrive.

deftly done, vyness. deftly done.
It's like the typical Hollywood happy ending. glad to read of your good fortune as a result of you taking a few extra minutes in asking Sprint for a good deal first before buying a phone through eBay. :)
