sprint screwed me over

ok my mom ordered the lg lx160 in october and we didnt get that phone until like january so my dad got pissed off and he called them and they gave us the basic $40 plan for less than $20 and then i bought a bunch of ringtones from them using their promo codes and our bill came out 2 be like around $66 and they didnt even put our discount on there either. so im pissed off about this whole mess so can u guys help me out with this

Do you have a data plan? Even though the ringers were free with promo codes, the data was not and it states as much.

Also, the ringers are still charge to your account, and then a credit is put on and not all credits for the ringers may have come through yet. may to 1-2 billing cycles. It says that in the fine print as well.

Have you looked at the bill to see WHY it is more expensive than you think it should be. Until you know that you have no idea if Sprint "screwed" you or you "Screwed" yourself.

If there are billing errors, I say email ecare first and ask them about it. Skip the hour phone call to *2

you only get one ringtone for free...and they may have added teh discount in the middle of a billing cycle and it wont show up till the next bill....

It sounds like your dad got in touch with the account services department which is there to stop you from canceling service.

Calling *2 and saying "cancel" may get you back to them to get it straightened out, but if you are on the basic 200 plan with no contract I don't know how much they will want to give you. You can already stop your service at any time if you choose on that plan.

Remember, downloading "free" ring tones still uses chargeable data, you you may have gotten charged for the data to get them. If you are saying you paid for all the ring tones that were supposed to be free, sprint often times will bill you one month, have you pay and apply the credits a month later.

Well, when you get the promo codes they do tell you that it won't be credited for at least one (possibly more) billing cycles. Or anytime I've seen them they did. I'm surprised that the data charges were only 78 cents myself.

The only thing that I'm seeing, is that your dad needs to call in and make sure that his NVP discount is being applied - and possibly even call up executive services and make sure that your retention plan is applied correctly.

The corporate discounts can take up to 2 bill cycles to show up on your account. As someone else stated you can't keep using promos to get free ringtones. Also if you already have a retentions plan I would not recommend calling in unless you are going to cancel. They'll see you already have a discount and have only had service for 6 months. I'm the rep that would just let you go.

Yeah man seems you misunderstood you can only get one free ringtone from sprint. seems the charges are valid.
