One of my plan feature is EVDO Casual: $0.0.
What does it mean?
Thanks for the help.

AFAIK it means that you don't have a Vision plan, so if you use data you will be charged a set rate per KB. The $0.00 is because casual usage only costs if you use it, so it shows up as costing nothing in the features.

My GF has SERO and hers says EVDO casual too, but when I check under her usage it says unlmited...odd that they'd do that but its included in her plan so I'm not too worried.

I supposed to have an unlimited data access but I can't find that in my plan. So I wonder whether EVDO Casual: $0.0 means free unlimited data access.

i had the same question so i emaled ecare and this is the response i got
Dear xxxxx,
Thank you for contacting Sprint again. I understand your concern regarding EVDO
casual reflected in to your online bill.
I have gone through your account and found that you have added EVDO casual as of
March 16, 2007. EVDO casual is a power vision service by which you can send the
e-mail, browse the mail and download premium content at speeds up to ten time
faster than vision in EVDO coverage area. It will not effect to your cost.
Thank you for contacting Sprint. Have a nice day!
xxxxx,

evdo casual means you dont have a vision add on plan, thats all.
Anyways the reason it say it on the sero is because those plan's are 100% different, when they're set up the rate plan is 0.00 and the add on is 30.00 so it equals 30 a month, 100% different than a regular rate plan and add ons.

Actually, as far as coding goes in the system, even if you DO have a Vision plan, EVDO casual rate is STILL added to the account. It is FREE so it's not costing you anything. You just have to have the EVDO casual on any account with Vision...they go hand and hand as far as our billing/account system is concerned.

I have 5 phones on my family plan.
Primary line says "EVDO Casual Included" and also Power Vision $20. Im supposed to have free vision prior to my ensemble migration.
Secondary lines say "EVDO Casual Included" without the Powervision option. Does this mean that the Secondary lines have unlimited EVDO as well?
I am on F&F Family plan.

What are your phones on primary and secondary lines? I believe EVDO Causal show up when your phone is EVDO capable.

That shows up on my account, and I have SERO with unlimited data (which shows up under usage), and haven't been charged for data.
But can I say that the thing that REALLY irritates me is, not just seeing an add-on that does nothing, but for which the price is "$0.0"? Sprint, dooodz, in America we format our money with two digits after the decimal point. Can we get it right and make it "$0.00"? Can we make the price for SERO show up as "$30.00" instead of "$30.0"????
Between stuff like this and the red "Payment Due!" showing up with a zero balance, you don't get a lot of confidence that Sprint knows just what exactly is on your account.

I just logged in right now and mine says "Vision" followed by unlimited. They just show how much data I've used, but doesn't look like they are charging me.

I have a Touch for the primary and a900 for the secondary, followed by 3 m300.
The Touch has Powervision/Casual EVDO, the a900 has Casual EVDO, and the other 3 don't have anything.

Both Touch and A900 are EVDO capable, so EVDO Causal are included. M300 is not EVDO capable, so no EVDO Causual . If Sprint unlimited Vision Pack is also included, then you have a power vision plan. If you have Sprint unlimited vision Pack without EVDO Causal, you have a regular vision plan. "EVDO Casual included" by itself without data plan doesn't mean much.

EVDO Casual is a plan addon required by the old billing system (p2k/premiere) If you have any vision plan or BB plan, EVDO Casual has to be on the line. It's what gives you your username (user@sprintpcs.com). If you have EVDO Casual and NO VISION PLAN then you can still access the web but will incur casual charges, if you want to avoid this, call in and simply ask the rep to remove EVDO Casual from the line.
In Ensemble however, EVDO Casual is not required as the NAI (username) is applied seperately. With some migrations it still carries over but has zero affect.

EVDO Casual is added to the power vision(EVDO) handsets activated on the account.
Whenever Internet is accessed through the phone and no Vision/Powervision pack is added, the account is charged at the default rate of $0.03 per Kilobyte. The following types of usage incur this charge:
- Browsing the Internet
- Downloading content such as ringers, screensavers, and games
You can minimize these charges in two ways:
1. If you wish to use Internet on a regular basis, add any of the following Power Vision pack to the account:
$15 Power Vision Access Pack
- Unlimited Web/Data Access
- Unlimited Picture Mail and Video Mail
- Multimedia - Includes Sprint TV and Sprint Radio
- $0.99 Song Downloads from Sprint Music Store
- Access to Sprint Navigation (pay per use/$2.99 per day)
- On Demand
- Access to NFL Mobile
- Sprint Mobile eMail
$20 Sprint Power Vision Navigation Pack
- Unlimited Web/Data Access
- Unlimited Picture Mail and Video Mail
- Multimedia - Includes Sprint TV and Sprint Radio
- $0.99 Song Downloads from Sprint Music Store
- Unlimited Sprint Navigation
- On Demand
- Access to NFL Mobile
- Sprint Mobile eMail
$25 Power Vision Ultimate Pack
- Unlimited Web/Data Access
- Unlimited Picture Mail and Video Mail
- Multimedia - Includes Sprint TV Premier and Sprint Music Premier
- $0.99 Song Downloads from Sprint Music Store
- Unlimited Sprint Navigation
- On Demand
- Access to NFL Mobile and
- Sprint Mobile eMail
2. Alternatively, you can remove the Internet accessing capability of the account. This way, you will not be able to access Internet and thus will not incur any such charge.

EVDO Casual doesn't incur any charges. I have had this on my account for well over a year and still haven't been charged for anything.

You won't get charged as long as you don't use the web, of course. read my first post, the last post on the 1st page of this thread.:deal:

I surf the web everyday and don't incur any charges on my Q9c. I am looking up NCAA scores on my phone right now!

You have a data plan though, lol. I think you're missing the point. EVDO Casual on a line WITHOUT A DATA PLAN will get casual charges of $.03/kb.

After reading up on all this, it's still confusing to have an EVDO Casual option along side a PV data plan active on the account.
I understand what's it's for, but they really should remove it for people that already have picked a PV plan.

If you're account's in p2k then it's required by the billing system.. nothing more.

I'm a little confused about EVDO as well. Is it supposed to allow you to browse faster than regular Power Vision speeds while in certain areas?
A friend of mine has Free Unlimited Power Vision and Free Casual EVDO on his plan, however I only have Free Unlimited Power Vision.

EVDO is Power Vision. That's Sprint's name for EVDO.

That's what I thought but I'm wondering why my friend has Unlimited PowerVision and EVDO Casual and I just have the PowerVision listed on mine.
Also, when I used to have the PowerVision Ultimate Pack these little blue arrows on my phone (Treo 700p) would be moving either up or down and since my PowerVision was switched it doesn't do that anymore. Just wondering why.

This is my conclusion from reading various forums: If you have power vision plan, EVDO Casual is redundant. Regular vison + EVDO Casual: $0.0 = Power vision. Regular vison using EVDO speed without EVDO Casual: $0.0 code will be charged $0.03/kb. EVDO Casual: $0.0 by itself means data access with EVDO speed at no charge. $0.0 means no charge. I could be wrong but this is my best guess.

My Treo 755p does the blue arrows when it's EVDO (Power Vision) and green arrows when it's on regular Vision.

I just checked and I have Unlimited PowerVision on my account and my friend actually has Unlimited Vision and EVDO Casual. Guess that explains that.
But I still don't know why the arrows no longer move.
Edit: Well, when I go to my "Change Plan Add-On's it says, Unlimited Power Vision, and when I click on the description, it sends me to a page that says, "Sprint Unlimited Vision Pack." When I close that and go back to my Plan Add-Ons... it says I have Unlimited Vision instead of Unlimited Power Vision... So, I don't know what the deal is. I'm guessing I actually don't have Power Vision which is why the arrows no longer move.

That shows up on my account, and I have SERO with unlimited data (which shows up under usage), and haven't been charged for.On my SERO also, BUT also on another line that doesn't have Vision/PV. I believe it just means that your phone is provisioned for Vision/PV (data). Its the PictureMail addon that appears on a SERO plan that gives you the unlimited data. Otherwise you'd be charged "casual" data rates...
