I've got an Lg Rumor, and I need a car charger...there are so many...all with the same picture...nearly the same feedback rating...should I trust them?...Do they work?...

Just take into account shipping charges.
I wouldn't expect it to last too long either, but I doubt they wouldn't work.

I can get you chargers for $5 a piece, car/home chargers. They are NOT original chargers but work.

there is nothing wrong (usually) with the ebay cheapos, the reason they do the low pricing with high shipping is to pay a low ebay fee, some people don't get that and get all mad when they pay $7 shipping and the label sez $.85 when they get it. you can also buy chargers for like $10 at walmart now though too.

I have never had any problem with any eBay charger or battery. You can't beat the price.

I have only had one charger that was suspect - it got hot - out of the 15 - 20 I have purchased on ebay. It was the DC portion that you plug a USb cord into. They work, just figure out if you want any additional accessories from the same seller and they will cut you a deal - small one- on shipping. I think a lot of the sellers are the same ones DBA under a different name - they are awfully similar in a lot of ways.
Generally I stick with the companies with a rating close to 100% - these sellers are around 97-99% generally. I generally don't purchase from anyone under 96% but that is my personal rule but you will find your own comfort level. Like other posters mention - look at the price and the shipping because shipping and handling is where they are making their money on a .99 item.

The only USB cords I have purchased on ebay are those that are device specific on one end and USB plug for computer on the other. The ones I purchased can be hooked up to the computer for charging or downloading or hooked up to an AC "adapter" that plugs into the wall or a DC adapter for the car. I like these because I only have to carry cables instead of full adapters.
As I said, I only had one DC adapter that got hot when charging in my car so I dumped it.

Well I just got a charger/clear case bundle from "itrimming" (1 x car; 1 x wall charger + 1 x clear case) for my LG LX-570 (Muziq) on Saturday. It was $1.99 (BIN) + $6.99 Shipping. Took about a week, but I think it was worth it. The car charger works great and funny thing is that the "cheap-o" wall charger actually fits the phone better than the OE wall charger, which is extremely loose. The ONLY grip I have is the fact that they kinda messed up my order and gave me the clear case for the LG8550 (Chocolate) and not for my Muziq. Sent an email about the situation to the seller, waiting for a response.

find ur local 'flee market' or discount area of ur town, u can get them for under 10 bucks, ie, harwin in houston, or chinatown in NY. Basically wherever the bootleg stuff is...
BTW, cost on these cheapo chargers are under a dollar.

i just bought a cheapy 'retractable' car charger on ebay, I don't remember exactly how much it is, but it arrived quickly and works. just look out for outrageous shipping rates.
OT, i also bought holsters for 2 cents each and shipping was pretty cheap. in the mall the same holder was $24.99!

Eh, maybe it's just me, but I don't trust the cheap chargers and batteries...have had too many bad experiences.

I always get mine directly from the manufacturer. And sorry to thread Hi-Jack, but does anyone know if there is a 1A 5V car charger for the mogul? All I can find is 500mA 5v chargers and they dont charge worth a damn.

I purchased one cheaper charger on ebay and it worked fine even though it rattled if shaken. However, as my phones get more expensive I tend to purchase OEM chargers on ebay. They are more than the non-OEM chargers but are still much less expensive than retail. I worry about ruining my phone with some of the cheaper chargers. I guess as long as you make sure the output/volts match up, you should be fine.

technically they will work, but i am always weary of plugging a $0.50 charger into my $300+ phone...
that being said if they do fry your phone, you are SOL, whereas if you used an OEM charger you would be covered

Good advice, I wouldn't use a mickey mouse charger on my phone.

OEM used to mean a lot.
Today, all corperations use 3rd party inorder to insulate themselves from slave labor negative fallout.
The larger they are, the more middle men are added, so the chances of the nock-off built in the same factory is rather interesting.
Bait and switch can and does happen to the OEM devices, but it just gets caught sooner...
Hence part of the mark-up.
YMMV, but I still try to find OEM from a stateside, Westcoast established seller ;)
With that said, I can add my 2 cents and recommend "sprintnexteldealer"

I do NOT normally spam, but they sent an OEM "Sprint" labled car charger and very fast out the door ship.
Ordered from this NJ vender Wednesday and was in Oregon Friday.
The BodyGlove was also genuine factory, very pleased.

If you have TEP, you are covered as well..... Have you seen any documented cases of a $.50 charger burning out a phone?
I bought a gas station one for $6.00 and it started to smoke on first use, burnt my finger when I unplugged it....phone still works fine...charger went to the trash....the $.50 chargers are much better in quality by looks as well, than those silver colored gas station chargers....you know which ones I mean.....
They do have the other gas station chargers, the ones that are of high quality... usually like $14.99
