Here's to hoping that it doesn't have the same issues as the last point-16 release....

it should be up around 5 cst per kmartburitto at xda or ppcgeeks, it will be hosted all over, the installer is pretty buggy, so as usual its use at your own risk...
right off the bat the first thing ive noticed is that the HTC task manager is now standard...and it also resets your settings so make sure u have ure msl and msid

I'm assuming you already have it installed, does GPS actually work?
Oh yeah, and once the MSL and MSID is reset, how do you go about re-inputting it?

I'll wait for the non-test version, but its promising, that's for sure. Oddly enough, the same frenzy is currently consuming the ipod touch forum over the jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone image... I'm waiting for a cleaner ipod touch there, too ;)
When you get older, its easier to wait.

After you download the ROM, extract it and rename the .ex extension to .exe
Connect your Mogul to the PC and establish an active sync connection (provided you have active sync installed, if not a simple google search should prove useful)
Simply click on the .exe file and follow the on-screen prompts.
I'm currently 92% done, yay! :wavey:
Remember installing new ROMS will delete all information from the device, restoring it to the factory state; I recommend backing up contacts, etc. through active sync.

so if this isn't an official release, where'd it come from?
in any case, I never got to upgrade to even 2.17. since I recieved my Mogul I've still been using the stock 2.09 because it seemed pointless to upgrade to 2.17 and then have to do it again soon after, considering I just got my phone less than a month ago.
I may just wait for the official release though, unless it's still a bit off and nobody finds any bugs in this "un"official release...

Quick Question, On my mogul, I am using the original rom 2.09. Can I update to the GPS/REV A rom or will I first need to update to the 2.16 rom BEFORE it will allow me to update to the GPS rom?
If I do update to the NEW GPS rom, will I miss anything from the previous rom?

I believe that is telling you how may satellites the GPS is seeing at the current moment. I don't have the rom installed, but perhaps there is a setting that can disable that display - sounds like either a debugging or (lets hope optional) status display.

it is running right now, the flash took a long time and seemed to 'hang' like others are reporting...i walked out of the room and just let it do it's thing and didnt worry about it.
couple of things i have noticed:
1) in the dialer there is the envelope/speaker on the 1 button
2) the battery gauge is default in the today screen
3) x-button comes already installed
4) seems snappy...but who knows :)
5) havent done the audiopara.csv hack yet, but the volume seems improved (ie. i can hear people)
dont know about roaming/bluetooth issues yet.

I guess we'd need to know rev A had been rolled out in our area to know if its working ;)
I've gotta wait. It takes a couple hours to bring myself back to fully re-installed/restored, and I really don't want to do that AGAIN in a week or a few days or even five whole weeks, whenever the actual release happens. Phone's working well, don't wanna mess with it right now. Still, yay - looks like we get an update sooner or later.
It seems to nuke the radio flash memory where settings are kept (like your phone number and msid and PRL) - can anyone who'd changed their SCI or codec confirm those are reset to default of 2 and the digital codec?

After you download the ROM, extract it and rename the .ex extension to .exe (emphasis mine)

Simply click on the .exe file and follow the on-screen prompts.

I'm using Vista Home Premium, and here's what I did
~rename the .ex file to .exe
~right-click the file and go to Properties>Compatibility and make sure "Run this program as an administrator" is checked
~run the program as usual
~if the gets stuck on the bootloader (multicolored screen) and/or the RUU program crashes, unplug the usb cable & remove the battery. After that, reinsert the battery and start the RUU program again (it doesn't matter if the phone's still stuck in bootloader)
~do a hard reset (hold the left & right softkeys while using the stylus to press the reset button and follow the prompts) and then start over
~keep trying! it took me 5 tries before it worked for me!

i've got good news for you vista users out there, i just did all the stuff that was mentioned over at ppcgeeks, nothing worked, so i uninstalled all of those drivers, rebooted, and reinstalled the mobile device center, then during installed when it stalled i pulled out te battery a few times(twice i believe) and it did install, but at 11% it stopped, and hte ppc rebooted itself twice i think and then the installation went ahead.

the q9c is the same way you have to go outside. This isnt a high quality sensitive SIRF III chip like in a bluetooth receiver that will work inside. Youre only talking the gps capabilities in the phone's chipset. It's more susceptible to blockages like bad weather, clouds, being indoors, etc.
This ROM is complete garbage. Yeah big whoop the GPS works, but PIE acts funny and pages dont like to load and all kinds of other crap....... The problems with it are so blatantly obvious within just a couple minutes I cant believe this is even worthy of being called a " test ROM ".

On a related note, how are other people detecting that they are using rev-A or not? Is it using a speed test like http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1 ? If so, I've upgrade the ROM but it my speed is still < 500 kbps. Perhaps Sprint hasn't enabled rev-A in my area?

one gps question
is there any way to have voice navigation who doesnt need maps and will download them realtime
i heard abt nav4all but it is not connecting to gps
it can be any one commercial or free but it should download maps and voices on the fly and not be saved in mem cards
edit:nav4all seems to work if google maps is running in background

hey all - just installed the beta rom. I had no issues what so ever. I just ran the exe and 10 minutes later I had gps.
I haven't noticed a REV A difference. I live close to Minneapolis and I'm not sure if we have been upgraded yet - and we have maybe it's a indoor coverage issue. I'll post if I feel my opinion has changed.
I feel that the device is a bit quicker. I reinstalled most of my apps and I think i'm seeing a slight speed increase. I like the new drop down/memory thing. I can kills apps without having to go to the memory section.
The other thing thats cool, which I haven't seen anyone mention this, is that Sprint included Nav Software.. which is kind of kool because it does the whole turn by turn direction thing. Not sure how well it works - I will try it later today.. but it did accurately find my location form inside the house when I used it.
Thats all I got. Good job Sprint and HTC!

http://www.sprint.com/business/products/products/evdoCoverage.jsp heres a page that has a list of all the rev.a covered cities.
scroll down to see the list of cities, the zip code option didnt seem to work for me it redirected me to the sprint homepage.
but if you select a city on the list (even if its only near you) it should bring up a map of your area with color coded options for rev.0 and rev.a coverage.

I received the phone return kit from Sprint, but still have the Mogul in hand... Should I install this and go with a bang?
Would suck, though, if I got a phone call from Sprint next week telling me they are reverting the return and sending the phone back as I have violated some sort of agreement by installing a non-released ROM update.

So I installed last night, things went good today until I got to a Verizon roaming area. The phone worked great here while roaming on the last rom. Well nothing on my phone works..no phone, no net, no text. I need to manually reset my vision services I think. Anyone know the steps to complete this because I am in a complete remote place and cannot call Sprint. This computer I am on even has very limited abilities....dang Govt.

THANK YOU! You are my hero for providing that coverage map - I've been looking for that forever it seems. :music:
As to the leaked ROM - I installed it this morning, twice actually. First, for anybody that has put custom ROMs on their device make sure that you either update to the 2.40 Olipro bootloader (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9093) or go back in and relock (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=12041) your Mogul. I actually installed a couple of custom ROMs built from the 3.16 so I did not do the relock.
I don't know that EVDO works, as I never really seem to get a good strong signal, but from installing a newer version of the radio yesterday I did get a faster download (about 1300 kbps) but don't know about the upload.
GPS - kicks butt! You may have to try a couple of times to get Google maps to work, and it does take it a few minutes to acquire the sat signals the first time. It's pretty darn cool to be in a vehicle and watch the little dot keep up with you - it locks on really close.
Now I'm just waiting for a kitchen to come out so I can get my 6800 back to where I like it to be.

I installed last night as soon as I got home -- works great for me. GPS worked 5 minutes after putting my phone in the window sill. Looks great, now all I have to do is get all of my old CABs installed.
Don't know about Rev A, but my speeds are definitely faster, yet fluctuating. One mobile speed-test went to 1.1m, then one right after went down to 500kb/s, then went up to 2m, so heck, we'll see. Definitely interested to see how long it takes to get some Custom ROMs out... I know there's already atleast 1.

Here are the custom ROMs with this version that I know of currently:
DCD's 2.0.0 BETA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362566) - I have not tried this, but I normally use his kitchen and it works well. This is an extremely early build.
superevilllama has a custom ROM posted as well over at ppcgeeks (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=16872) and I am actually running that one at the moment. It doesn't have the newest radio, so you'll need to either flash that in first or go with....
This (http://rapidshare.com/files/86648524/3.16_GPS_rom__and_patched_2.05spl.rar.html) custom ROM that does have the radio. I think that it is a shadowmite build, but I'm not sure. I had this one for a little bit and it seemed to work fine as well.
I didn't make any of these, just ran them and found them. I would go with either of them - but the dcd rom is likely to be fairly bare and minimal I would guess.
I'm sure there are more out there.

Ok, I installed this rom yesterday and it worked great until I came to work. Which is in a remote location. I roam off of Verizon towers...with usually pretty good reception. This new ROM has screwed me for some reason. My phone no longer acts activated. I get a verzion recording saying the number is not activate or valid. I tried to get my vision to reset by doing the reset password trick. Basically..while I am roaming on Verizon towers am I pretty much screwed on getting my information back? Or should I call into Sprint..UGH...and see if they can actually manually do this somehow?

I had the same problem. What I did was, I left the Google Maps running and made sure the blue light was blinking. After driving around and going places for like 15 mins, Google Maps final picked up like 6 satalites and was working! Try that and see if it works.
Also people who have TomTom and cant get it work. Make sure you Google Maps running and working, then load up TomTom and setup the TomTom GPS. TomTom GPS settings should be "other GPS device" and "com4" on it and it should work! Good luck!

If you did use the Olipro bootloader unlocker you would probably be O.K. if you needed to get your phone serviced - but just for safety's sake, I would go ahead and relock it - that way they can't blame you for any mistakes or voiding the warranty type issues.

it may be the PRL on the test rom, i would say call sprint and get a prl update,i believe 60611 is the newest one out, if it has any lower of a PRL then sprint should be able to flag a prl update, or in the case of a PDA its quite easy to download and manually update the PRL using the ##prl# menu
http://corolada.com/prl/sprint/60611.prl
is the newest prl out. even if it says that prl is already on the device, it may be a custom one for the test device.

I flashed this test rom, and all is good. Google picked up the satellites within 5 minutes. Also, I have destinator 7 installed and works great. I don't have to have google running in the background either. ##debug# now shows all the info that used to say N/A. I don't know about the roaming, because I nevr roam since I live in a large city. Also, this is true standalone GPS because it still works in airplane mode. I just wanted to do a quick test of this rom, I am probably going to go back to 2.17 until the final release, I hate that test only wording on the HTC screen.
BTW, my phone went to the color screen and hung there for a minute, then reset itself. but, it picked right back and finished without a problem.

Here's my experience:
To install it I first did a hard reset of the phone, then I switched from Vista to my copy of Windows XP (32-bit) trying to be extra cautious. It did freeze at 11% (with the phone at the tricolor screen), but I'd read for others that it unfroze for them. I ALMOST gave up and restarted it after 15 minutes, but I kept hoping it would unfreeze. It did after about 30 minutes. Not sure why it took so much longer for me, but I'm glad I didn't interrupt it. After it was installed I tried to bring up PIE and it said it needed to "Prepare Vision services." and mentioned IOTA. That took about 10 minutes then my connection established.
I'm having some problems with EV-DO and the GPS. Like others on the other forum my GPS took about an hour before it started working, but since then it's been very finicky. I'll be in the same location, and Google Maps will say it's picking up satellites. Then if I close Google Maps and reopen it suddenly GPS can't pick up any satellites. If I close it again and reopen it sometimes the GPS starts working again, other times a reset is required.
The data problems are more troublesome though. As several people have mentioned Pocket Internet Explorer has problems opening websites, but I believe it to be more of a data connection problem than PIE. Even in Opera data transfers frequently hang and tell you transfer interrupted. (confirmed to be happening to others on the other forum) Some roaming issues (in that it doesn't roam) but I've read that might be because there is a possibility it has a test PRL even though it says it's 60610. Big problem for me though is the EV-DO drops out frequently. Even sitting on my desk it'll be connected, an IM client running, then suddenly it turns on, flashs "Can't connect to #777", and then my IM client has AOL bugging me telling me "You are now logged on at two locations". The internet doesn't drop out for any significant length of time (for this specific problem), but thinking about it during this post has made me want to see if maybe my IP address is changing for some reason. Finally - I have had this happen only once (granted I've only had this rom installed one day) but the internet connection died entirely and was solved only by a soft reset. Not sure what caused it but the EVDO icon stayed on at the top, I even tried a client initiated IOTA which failed with a 1012 Unable to provision error. After a soft reset my connection came back.

I tried calling and got a woman I had great difficulty understanding, then she didn't know what a PRL was. (was done using *2 to get to her) So, I downloaded and used the file you linked instead. For everybody else you do ##PRL#, type in your MSL number, then I selected PRL, Edit, showed it where I'd saved the file on my microSD card, hit Ok. It did an update, said "Press Ok to reset." It restarted, and at first I was slightly worried because it had a no signal, voice or data, icon. After about 2-3 minutes it connected and had a 1X icon. After about 10 minutes EV-DO finally kicked in. Haven't tried roaming with it yet, but I can at least confirm it didn't break anything readily apparent by applying that file.

but it didn't work and I ended up calling sprint cs and then I got msid and then everything seemed to work in 2.17
then again in the night I flashed 3.16 in it programed myself with the msid and msl
but here's the problem whenever he tried to use data it does iota data provision but fails everytime with error code 1012
I even tried soft resetting as well as hard resetting but no go
while in my fone it went smoothly
so can anybody explain how do I provision his fone

Not sure about PIE but in Opera I believe you can just type in the full path to the file, and when it tries to open it since it isn't a webfile it recognizes it will ask if you want to Save or Open the file. Save it, then do the manual update.
(on a side note at least your government job apparently has some security. Recently in my area the social security information, address, everything was stolen from the voter registration office - the data was on a laptop HD, unencrypted, with the username/password to log on wrote on a piece of paper and TAPED to the side of the laptop, they had cameras but they had the recorder for them unplugged, and the security guard said he saw the window open but he didn't think anything of it at the time so the theft of the laptop took 2 days for anyone to notice)

I see a lot of people complaining that this and that doesn't work with the 3.16 ROM... it's a test ROM...not meant for the masses yet. For all we know it could be an Alpha version not even a Beta or a RC yet. By the looks of things it does look to be a Beta or RC but who knows. I hear people on other forums say "Well my phone doesn't work now...what am I supposed to do?" Well don't install a TEST ROM unless you're prepared for the consequences if it doesn't work right. In my own case I use my Mogul for work so I will never install a test ROM or any kind. I'm really glad to see that GPS and Rev A will be coming in an official update soon. Once that happens you're darn right I will upgrading.

I was pretty happy with the test Rom. For it to be BETA it works good as long as you are on Sprint towers lol. I just really wish the BETA tested ROAMing. I really wish cell phone companies would get with the program and get over this roaming B.S.

GPS works, drove my car to the end of the driveway it found 4 sats. Few things though, Mogul wanted to Roam for awhile after ROM update. I have Google Maps installed, its wants to access the net for info, which I understand. Does the GPS need internet access to work as well? I don't have a Vision plan, so I'm wondering if this GPS is going to cost a bundle if it needs Google Maps to work. Somebody asked for screenshots.

you can be in airplane mode and still access gps, but google maps needs data to load the map information.
if you get a standalone gps app like tom tom with maps on your SD card, you can access gps navigation without data coverage.

Thanks BrettW for the info, I'll be looking into the Tom Tom software.
Ok, I just connected the Mogul to the pc thru usb, I didn't know you could surf your through your computers internet connection, this just rocks!! I fired up Google Maps, GPS, mogul gives you an option to lookup contacts who you have addresses stored for. Tried one, it takes you through step by step of mileage to, turns, everything, this is badass!!

Once that happens you're darn right I will upgrading.

installed pretty smoothly this morning and i've used the phone most of today without a problem. web pages are definitely faster. there's something a little flakey after you soft reset related to he connectivity but it sorts itself out. it seems faster, better battery life, and the little annoyances that I had seem to be gone. things like window flicker.

Just for those out there wondering and just now catching up on this thread. From what I have read on other forums, this ROM does not ROAM on Verizon towers. If anyone test different or hears different, let us know. Being without a phone for the last two days, and another day to go has really sucked.

If I were you, I'd seriously consider getting a data plan if you're going to own the Mogul. There are all types of programs (and even built in apps) that constantly like to access the web. You're going to get hit (unless you completely remove all Sprint Vision connection) with a huge bill one day. Sprint has the cheapest unlimited data plans around. Why would you want to own a phone as powerful as the 6800 and not have the nice EVDO to go along with it?

this is why I'm going to wait; I don't want to have to double-back when the new one comes out (only to have to install everything for a 2nd time)...plus, I'm not liking what I hear in relation to the "bugs in the system" for this firmware.
It sounds really nice, and it'd be tempting, with the lower latency, higher upload EVDO Revision A (plus a tiny download boost)...which will make things load faster, and VoIP doable (not to mention if there's ever any online Mogul games XD)...but the risks are just too much for me.
hopefully the official firmware will be out in February.

I sync'd my phone to my computer w/out incident.
I d/l'd the SPCSTITANROM_3_1.zip file.
Then extracted the RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3_1_.16.651.0_435009_RS3_27_0 0_SPCS_NV124 folder.
Then extracted the RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3[1].16.651.0_435009_RS3_27_00_SPCS_NV124.exe file.
When I double-click it, my command prompt opens for about a half a second, then disappears. Nothing else happens. I have tried d/l'g the file from another source to make sure I didn't get a corrupt file, but same results.

That's what I did, too. Yeah, it was really cool to be able to use the GPS for awhile, but in the end everything was just way too flakey for my tastes.
For a little tip on those that did go with the test ROM and decide that they want to go back - first I used a custom ROM that was built from the 3.16, not the actual leaked ROM itself, so I had the 2.40 Olipro bootloader. I couldn't flash back to any previous ROM or Radio and got stuck on the HTC boot screen. Even going back into the bootloader and reflashing didn't work. What I had to end up doing was reflashing the custom 3.16 (without a radio), getting that to run - then going in and using the relocker (that can be found at ppcgeeks) to lock the SPL again. Then I flashed a stock Sprint 2.17 with 1.47.01 radio. And now I'm back running my custom 2.17.
I was a little scared for awhile....
oh, then I had to reprogram my phone because the MDN/MSID got blown away.

Here's another bug to add to my previous list: Sometimes while in a phone call the screen will turn off, and the lights will start blinking very rapidly. (so rapidly it just looks more like they are on and flickering than turning off and on in a countable speed) The screen won't come back on, and I can't even end the call until I do a soft reset. It does it on all the lights the mogul is capable of lighting up. (email shortcut's white light, PIE's shoutcut's white light, green phone button and red end phone call button)

remember when you turned on your phone and say the screen that said "testing only, not for sale"
you are running a beta rom where there are well documented issues with roaming.
you aren't doing anything wrong besides running a rom that won't allow you to roam

I jsut wanted to tell you the info in that youtube video is totally incorrect. The video drivers in question are missing from ALL newer HTC phones- both the Mogul and Touch as well as the Tilt and others. the reason "most likely" the Mogul's scrolling is so choppy in that video and the Touch's is so smooth is the Touch has double the RAM the mogul has. meaning if both phones had nothing running the Touch had a lot more free resources. thats just my best guess on that one but its definitely not the drivers. The Touch and Mogul have the same exact guts except the RAM difference

some people have reported that it wipes them out, but more than likely they are not wiped out. mine were not wiped out when i flashed the beta
mine were wiped out when i used the relocker to go back to 2.17...i simply called up sprint and told them i needed to reprogram my phone after installing the 2.17 upgrade (didnt tell them i ever did the 3.16), they gave my msl, mdn, and msid and walked me through the steps to reprogram.

If you don't know what you are doing and/or not ready for the potential problems that a unofficial rom will do to your phone, you should not even attempt to flash your Mogul. Just wait until the final release comes out and save yourself the trouble. That's why so many of the techs at Sprint (and I am not defending those guys by any means) are so frustrated when they are trying to help with issues.

I installed the ROM, and have had fairly good success. My results:
1. GPS works great. Sprint Navigation is really not a terrible product.
2. Bluetooth is night-day difference from the previous ROM. It connects, stays connected, and reconnects (e.g., when the phone is turned off/on) perfectly, and sound volume and quality is improved.
3. Activesync works better, principally Exchange push sync. It's actually usable now.
4. Battery life has taken a supreme nose-dive. I doubt that I can go an entire day with a single charge, without talking on the phone. I'm sure it's a combination of Bluetooth now being on constantly, the GPS receiver (?), and this being a test ROM of unknown status.
I'll likely stay with this ROM, even given the horrible battery life. In any case, I'm very much looking forward to a shipping ROM. The Mogul is now the phone I thought I was buying...

Instead, they screw up there phone and wonder why it won't work and ask alot of questions that have been answered a million times in the same thread.

Yes, there is a leaked ROM that enables GPS and EVDO RevA. However, the Windows Update is about the most useless thing out there - I have no idea that it will ever actually be used. In order to flash a new ROM your going to have to connect your phone to a computer and do it through Activesync. There is a lot of documentation out there for this. However, I would not suggest going with the beta ROM unless you are very familiar with flashing ROMs to your device.

You will first need to make sure that your device can boot to the Today screen (I say this because I tried to just go back without doing what I am going to describe, and ended up getting stuck at the black HTC screen), then go through the steps to relock your device (it's over at the ppcgeeks ftp site, but I don't know that they would want that posted; you can also find it at xda-developers, just search for titan relocker).
After you relock it, just go ahead and flash whatever rom you want - you'll probably want to flash one that has a radio as well, so I would just use the stock Sprint 2.17. You can do this from the three-color bootloader screen.
As for not being able to make phone calls, you will need to reprogram your device. I had to do this as well. If you have your MSL and MSID then you can do it yourself, just enter ##MSL# and go in and edit the MDN and MSID. Otherwise just call CS (but not from your Mogul) and have them talk you through reprogramming.

It almost seems like it's hit-or-miss on whether or not the test ROM is a boon or a hindrance to people. I guess I just had bad luck with it - EVDO would lose an active data connection, sometimes I could only connect at 1X in an EVDO area, I had worse battery life, general lockups...yeah it was faster and GPS is the bomb, but I'll hold out till it's official.

THERE IS A NEW ROM OUT!! it is not offical and I think Sprint released it in hopes that everyone will install it, and if it bricks your phone they won't have to pay!!! Free testing...no liability!!
I hear it also activates the GPS and copies ALL your phone calls and info on the phone and card are sent to the Government.

I know that when that happened to me I got a little bit concerned that I had a new paperweight. ;)

Yeah I wasn't too sure that they liked having the ftp links posted, so I didn't post that up - I actually have that opened up in another window right now!
You may also want to check your life timers too - I noticed that mine were wiped clean! So, I've got a brand spanking new Mogul!

I know this question is so noobish, but I have to ask it.
Can someone give me a quick guide on downgrading from the 3.16 to 2.17? I want to upgrade to one of the custom ROMs built on 3.16, but from what I've been told, I have to do it from 2.17... If I'm wrong, someone want to point me in the right direction?

You don't need to stack ROMs. I upgraded from 2.09, and it worked fine. All ROM updates are completely independent.

1) Run the titan re-locker found at ppcgeeks.com (follow steps carefully, and it might be worthwhile to read the thread about the relocker at ppcgeeks too)
2) Run the 2.17 RUU that can be downloaded from http://www.america.htc.com/support/mogul/software-downloads.html

Mogul = King again!
I uploaded the new rom. I was kind of fustrated because it just seemned to "hang" at around 11% however, the last time I was fed up and just left it there and low and behold "BAM" the new rom was on.
GPS with google maps is soooo awesome! It is pretty fast...the first time it was trying to aquire the sat. signal was slow, probably about 20 min. after that it takes a few seconds.
Now I just have to find some software that I can load my own maps to a SD Card. I think google maps is just too data intensive. I received the Mogul free, so after GPS, it makes this phone a cheap and inexpensive GPS solution! I fell in love with it again. woot!

Yea I got it worked out, I did end up having to call in and get the correct MSID. I wrote a number down wrong previously.
So this is the steps: ##inputMSL#: Edit: MDN=Phone Number: MSID= 10 digit number, its almost your phone number, it might be, my last four numbers were different.
After that, it rebooted and everything went back to normal, Sprint of course tells you it might take up to four hours.

good you got it worked out. i know my mdn and msid are correct, i imagine i just have to call them to associate the esn on my mogul with my phone line. i'm in love with this 700p right now so i'm not even gonna bother with all the phone calls when the official rom is released i'll probably go ahead and switch back to my mogul

Hi Everyone,
I live in an area where the towers have apparently support Rev A (from the Sprint coverage map). However, I'm not really seeing an increase in connection speeds.
Is there any definitive way to determine whether I am making a Rev A connection to the tower nearest to my house. Just curious.

Yeah, you gotta make sure those numbers are correct. Funny thing is, I knew what all mine where before I even called in to CS - I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right - and the guy I talked with tried to give me the wrong MSID, he had two numbers transposed. I was like, is it this or something else? It was the something else....

In NYC, it would will be a little/take longer to get signal because of all the buildings. Us NYCers must deal with it. Once your in a place where not too many buildings are, it takes my Mogul about like 5 mins to get a signals.

I've been back and forth myself. I finally settled on No2Chem's Window's Mobile 6.1 based clean ROM. Very nice. Got all my stuff installed, data works, GPS works. I'm good to go.
Last night after flashing back to stock 2.17 I had major issues getting PV provisioned - it just would not work. But it came back up this morning. So today I watched some pregame stuff and flashed my 6800.
I don't think that I have ever used On Demand...in my opinion it's pretty useless - though it was handy to have on a non-pda phone.
One thing I've noticed, and I'm sure this has been posted somewhere - is that if I have to flash from just the bootscreen that I have to reprogram my phone.

Now for some reason this morning my Mogul is not notifiying me of new alerts (text messages/missed calls/voicemails). I checked the Notifications tabs, everything is checked as it should be. I'm wondering if the new ROM is causing this, wierd thing is this just started this morning. I've had the new ROM 3.16 since it was posted.
