I have the HTC Touch and wouldn't mind paying for sprint tv except it's mostly just the mobile versions of the channels and a bunch of repeating clips..

Does anyone know if there are any kind of cable tv subscription services out there? I travel a lot so it'd be nice to start the touch and load up hbo or showtime.. dont mind paying $20 month or whatever it may be if such a service even exists. (I've google'd it to death and only came up with one result - virtual cable television which works for windows mobile, but the channel lineup are mostly unheard of channels)

Wow you must be really new to PDA phones. I know of at least 3 ways to watch cable TV on winMo phones. Orb, Sling and MobiTV. If you have a media Center PC with TV tuner you can run Orb on your PC and it'll stream your cable TV to your phone for free. You must have unlimited data such as power vision. It streams EVERYTHING on your PC to your phone, TV, videos, audios, Pictures, documents. www.orb.com
You can buy a slingbox and pay $30 for SlingMobile for your Touch. Slingbox streams you TV to your phone without a PC but requires broadband internet at home to do it. It hooks up to your cable or cable box and to your router.
Then there's MobiTV. There's a hack that resets the 3 day trial period. I cant tell you what it is b/c I dont wanna get in trouble.
I Personally use Orb because it's free, It works with your Touch right out of the box without any additonal software.

I probably should have been a little more detailed.

Right now I'm without a PC, but my Touch still keeps me online, checking emails, etc.. it's almost like a mini computer.

I'm looking for a service like MobiTV, but one that has real cable! MobiTV is pretty much Sprint TV, repeating mobile clips, mobile versions of the channels, and a handful of live channels, none of them cable of course.

Even if it costs $30/month (the cost of cable) I don't mind paying it as I travel so much.
Sling requires a PC and your already existing cable service, of which I have neither.. just looking for some kind of streaming cable subscription that works on pocket pcs, if one even exists..

Some of the channels on MobiTv are indeed live cable channels. Not all of them of course.
MSNBC
TLC
Animal Planet
Fox News
CSPAN 1 and 2
Discovery Channel (there is two, one is the mobile version the other one is the live one)
CNBC

There is probably a few more Iam forgetting.

In that case, you're stuck with MobiTV or other online TV channels. Sling requires home broadband internet access. Orb requires a host PC and home broadband internet access.
