I was wondering if anyone had been able to get this done through retentions. I thought that I had read somewhere where it was possible, but I was not able to find the thread. If this is not possible, what is the best discount I can hope for?

Thanks

aside from the upgrade program and a retentions miracle, ebay is your best bet to get this phone brand new for a discount.

Free no, but you can get it heavily discounted through retentions.

It is all depending on how long you have been a customer, average monthly bill, amount of credits blah blah blah.

I can verify from my current situation that I was offered a Touch for 125 dollars shipped by retentions.

That is of course, not free. I am doing a pretty good job (I think I am at least) and getting them to credit you 250 bucks on top of the online discounts and rebates is a toughie.

Good luck though, you will never know if you don't try!

heck, almost anyting is possible with retentions. I got a free 6700 when I was ooc but it all depends on the rep

That is totally true. Do some digging. There are people who have gotten paid to take a really great phone. When the A-900 was new and hot, I had a friend who got a 150 dollar credit to his account AND the phone shipped free.

It has a lot to do with persistence, patience and luck of the draw. Just make sure you stay the "Valued customer" and do not berate the associates. Totally counterproductive.

Exactly. It seems that the only time I have had success (and the only time I ever had to do it) blowing up on the rep was with Dell Customer Service Chat because they lost my laptop and a rep called a few minutes later and send me a new one

Yes, it is. I was given a Touch for free through retentions about 2 weeks ago. It was definitely the right rep, and I was on the phone with her for 3 1/2 hours reworking my plan (that worked out fairly well for me, too) before I got everything set straight. By the end of the conversation, I had a free Touch headed my way (free overnight shipping, no activation fee - truly free). And yes, I was OOC.

With that said, I've had to call back in several times after that day (of course) to fix my plan/bill, and I've had more than one rep tell me that they've never seen anyone get the Touch for free before. If you look on the boards I believe there have been other people that have gotten it for free as well, but it seems to be exceedingly rare.

It depends on how much you pay too.

I have a pal whose bill is over 300 per month. Sprint gives him deals on phones all the time.

My other pal has a basic plan and they don't cut him a break on phones. He has lots of perks though.

I bought a razr in jan 06. I got replacement from sprint store in january 07. I emailed ecare two weeks ago asking about a discount from them on touch. I got a touch for 49.99 through ecare... I was pretty happy to say the least. I am still waiting to see if everything works out alright, right now my bill is at -1220.xx. (I did have to return the razr to get price, big deal).

As always with sprint, ask again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and you shall receive. FWIW I do pay my 43 dollars a month for two lines with free pv and txt msg and 1200 mins on time each month.

Free? I don't think it's to likely. I would say retentions 'may' offer you one for $199 or $99 depending, other than that eBay is your friend.

I it seem pretty much got my touch for free. The rep was like an angel, on my second attempt I was simply trying to get billed for the phone as opposed to paying up front. The rep said no problem. She did not realise I was only 40 dollers under my 200 doller credit limit. She said that was her fault but with credits and rebaits totalling almost 1 thousand dollars. Yes 1 thousand dollers I got a Touch for what appears to be free. I had to call back that evening as my service was d/c because of the wild account numbers but another rep gave me a 50 doller credit.

Yeasterday I wanted to get a heads up on my bill for next month I got money today and not sure how next month will look so I saw where I had a -50 doller balance. I am not good at math but it looks like they paid me 50 bucks to get a touch.....well and a new two year aggreement but with perks like this who is worried about a contract right.;)
