Okay, so my 2-year contract ran out and I'm thinking about purchasing a phone via ebay. I'm just on a "fair n flexible" 400 plan right now, so if I added a data plan (purchasing a PDA phone), will I automatically have a 2 year contract renewal.
I thought I read somewhere that any plan UPGRADE with a new esn/phone will automatically renew a Sprint contract.
Thanks in advance for a response....

I agree with brett, I am, as of yesterday, on a sero 500 plan. To my surprise, I was only 9 months into a 2 year contract. since you are ooc it shouldn't be a problem getting sero.

There are no contract renewals required for plan changes anymore. You can change to whatever plan you want, and stay month to month if you're out of contract. The only thing that will renew your contract now is if you purchase a new phone at a discounted price at a Sprint store or dealer, or through the web and telesales.

When I got my phone from sprint and had probles with their phones they offered me the option of purchasing my own phone and activating it for free through retentions.

There should not be any upgrade fee's or renewals of any kind. Someone may want to make you pay an upgrade fee but my expereince is persistance pays off.
