omg this (ok, I) am so lame. i have an older Sanyo 7500 model with a bunch of priceless pics (to me at least) that I can't upload/retrieve from my old phone (deactivated as of last week and the Sprint gal said it was really easy to get them off). So tried plugging USB cable into the phone and then into my PC to transfer from the PictBridge but the PC says Windows does not recognize the "device".
went to TWO Sprint stores today with the PC and the phone and the cable and they all pointed me (first) to another store, then 2nd store said to "google it"! WTH?
Anyway I did. But to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? I have to return the phone by Monday or get charged full price for my new one. So the USB Cable/Disk options I looked into (that are compatible with this old POS phone) all won't ship in time and the major electronics stores I've checked don't carry the cable (made my Mobile Action Co. Part # MA 8512P).
good times! help? pretty please? is there an easier way? thanks!!!!:1zhelp:

you have the usb cable, which is good, just plug the cable in put the phone in modem mode, if you need the drivers install the sprint connection manager it should have the drivers you need, then once the drivers are installed install bitpim (can be found quickly on google) go into the settings, set the device as a similar device such as the sanyo 7300 or 7400 (unless the 7500 is a supported device, i forget) and select the port as sanyo serial port, and then try to browse the file system, if it allows you to do so browse around and you should be able to find where the pictures are stored and then copy them off the device,
i know my instructions are vague, sorry but im going off memory and generalized information as i have never used a sanyo 7500

I was thinking it needs to be put in mass storage mode when you connect your cable.

if the 7500 has expandable memory it may support mass storage, it would prompt you to do so when you plug the cable in it would give you 3 options mass storage, photo bridge, or modem mode if it supports

I think there is a "USB Connection" setting in "Tools".

i would switch back to your old phone and add vision. when the vision works correctly, email all your pictures to your email (as a backup copy) and upload them onto the server. when that's all done, switch back to your old phone keep the vision. download the pictures or something. then remove the vision.

Add vision and picmail to your account, upload them, download them from your computer, and then cancel the vision and picmail.
that is, if you can't get them to your computer thru the USB cable.

just use bit pim it works fine. you may need to pick up the sanyo drivers.

I have the same problem with my 7500. Generic answers won't help. If someone with actual experience with this exact phone could tell us exactly how it's done, we'd be forever in your debt. I can't find drivers. I can't find any "USB mode" setting anywhere. The only time my computer even sees my phone is when I hit "pictbridge". Then the phone says "error, disconnect USB".Downloaded both music backup and "phone as modem" software, neither made connection with the phone. "Modem/standby" gets no response.
Also, prints pics fine hooked direct to printer with USB.

Like I said, If you cant upload pics and since the 7500 doesnt have external memory, you have 2 set your usb settings to Data/Modem. Then download Bitpim(theres a bitpim link in "Motorola discussion/Official v9m how to guide" Forum. Then you should be able to get the tutorial in "Sanyo discussion" forum. If its not posted, just ask. Or you can Google it. Thats the best way I can think of to cure your problem. Good luck.
I have a MM-7400 that has a broken screen. I can only see the bottom portion with the soft key shortcuts. What is the menu sequence to get to the USB settings?

Try Menu > 9 > 6
