I had a sanyo mm-8300 for about a halfa year.
One day it randomly shut down and when i tried to turn it on it came up with a message that said Rescue mode SERIAL ON. It was on an all black screen with white text. Has anyone else had this happen to them and what was the fix.
I called sprint cs and they ttold me no idea get a new phone....Very helpful....

I got a new phone but im very curiouse.

Was that all there was to it? The sprint store didn't try to reflash your phone?

Nope.
They told me to get a new phone.
None of them had any idea about it.
I ended up making them feel horrible so they gave me a free rumor with an upgrade.

The store you took it to may have not been a service center so instead of telling you to take it to a service center for a reflash they were more concerned with getting an upgrade out of the deal. Well if you got a free Rumor out of the deal then things did not work out too bad but I wonder how they still had Rumors sitting around with the national backorder thing going on.

This was like when the rumor first first came out. They had just got like two in stock the guy said im prolly one of the first ten people to get it. He said hes not even sure how they got the rumor in so early. It was before the release date.
