Does anyone have any idea when Wisconsin (Green Bay/Appleton area) will have EVDO coverage? There is currently just one tower in Green Bay (at Lambeau Field) that has EVDO.

Haha yeah im very familiar with this...i saw the coverage map reflect this its a small patch in central green bay...for evdo.

Northern Wisconsin they are working on it. Beaver Dam just was lit up and they are moving east and west. Fond Du Lac is next to be lit up with EVDO in mid to late feb. Oshkosh Appleton Greenbay are slated for late 1st quarter but probably 2nd quarter here 2008

Have you tried contacting sprint about a time frame. I was told last year the towers were in place but not "turned on yet," Well i am still waiting as well.

Haha yeah I have an update and talked to the DM for the Sprint Stores in that area...he was really mad when he came back from a meeting in MARCH only to find out its been pushed back to LATE 3rd QUARTER. A lot of customers were expecting it up there in Febuary now it might be an early christmas present for 08..sorry to bring about the bad news

That's too bad. That will make it a year late. When I recently sent a request to ecare, I got the following response:

Thank you for contacting Sprint. We are greatful to you for providing
us an area to improve EVDO coverage and increase our business.

I understand that EVDO Coverage is partially available in your area. I
would like to inform you that at present EVDO Coverage is available at
almost all the areas barring few. Unfortunately, your area is one of
them.

We keep upgrading and adding new areas under the EVDO Coverage. This is
done to improve the performance and coverage in an area.

I thank you for providing information regarding the area. I have
forwarded the information to the appropriate department. It will be
analyzed and worked upon. We will use your suggestions to help us
better serve our future customers. I appreciate your cooperation in
this matter.

Currently we are working on this and let me assure you that in a very
short span of time all the areas will be covered under the EVDO
Coverage. Till the time, the coverage is not improved, I can only
apologize for this and do regret for the inconvenience that you faced
due to the same.

Thanks a lot for providing the information. Have a great day!

Sincerely,
Stacy S.

Sounds almost like the same generic response I got almost a year ago when I asked when EVDO was supposed to be coming to Panama City, FL. The guy at the sprint store (last year) said "next month" so take sprint's word for what you will.

I'm from Marinette. A little more than 50 miles from you.
We don't have any EVDO towers anywhere near, except for Green Bay.

Do you know where Three Lakes is?
Well, It's a little TINY pi**-ant town further north from me.
I was on a vacation there, and they had a EVDO tower!!
I almost s*** my pants!

How can Green Bay have only one EVDO tower, and a well populated city have zero, while a town of 1,000 at the MOST have EVDO?!?!

It just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm guessing you were roaming on Alltel which has quite a few EVDO towers in northern Wisconsin.

I agree. I have family near Appleton and it's frustrating when the only broadband available for them is wireless internet that is 250kbps starting at $35 a month. I rather go with Sprint and EVDO (when available) that is triple the speeds and more reliable. Can't wait until it's available!

Huh, weird. Kenosha (where I was visiting this past weekend) has full EVDO coverage (though I'm pretty sure it's not Rev. A).
