A friend of mine told me that Sprint locks down the EVDO speed on Pocket PC type devices. That is making sense to me as browsing internet is quite slow on my PPC-6700 (reminds me of 14400 modems) but the underlying technology is exactly the same as the one used for broadband cards which are supposed to be quite fast. So is that true about the speed being locked down and is there a way to unlock it?

Thank you!

What speed are you getting?

I got 610 kbit/sec

it seems to be a very good result, isn't it?

so is it just the browser that is slowing me down?

We don't lock it down. We give you access with no restrictions on speed or where you can go/what you can do online.

Is EVDO asynchronous like cable throttling?

That's actually decent for a centro.
