Is there a way to rebind keys?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I searched for remapping and rebinding keys and received 0 results. I don't know what else to look for or what it's actually called.

What I'd like to do it change my phone button to go to my contacts list instead of the dial pad. I know once at the dial pad I just have to hit one more button but I can't remember the last time I've used the dial pad.

And if that's possible I'd like to change the calendar to text messaging or IM key since I use both of those more than I use my calendar.

Can this even be done or am I just too picky?

Well the quick answer is Yes, you can remap keys, unfortunately you're not able to remap the Photo key. It is permanently set to access the phone command. This is with no 3rd party software installed. There may be some options out that aren't from Palm.

Go to System Preferences. Easy to get there is to go to the dial screen, hit the menu button (lower right of keyboard) Go over to Options and choose System Preferences. Scroll down the page until you see "Buttons" under PERSONAL. This is where you can select what programs load with what button pushes.

The way you select keyboard keys to open programs is different. You need to go back to phone dialer screen, hit menu again, choose "Edit Favorite Pages". You need to have a favorite link here for whatever program you are wanting to set a shortcut key for. Now choose a favorite program from the list and click on it. Now you should see a screen that says TYPE: LABEL: and QUICK KEY: This is where you set the quick key. You can set them for Applications, Dial Pad, Contacts, Email, Speed Dial etc.

Mess around with these two methods and see if you can get your Centro configured how you'd like.

You can do what Chewieez suggested or you can use LudusP 1.9 to remap the Centro keys.

LudusP 1.9 does work on the Centro and it is reasonably priced.

My phone is still set to my PHONE key but I have the "Option+Phone" as my contact list.

I used Butler to change my Phone key to Contacts, and my green button to Phone.

Yes! This was all very helpful thank you very much. Right now I just rebound calendar to contacts and email to messaging. Still gonna play around to see what I should set the options to.

I don't want to put too much on it because I'm looking to trade it for the Red or Pink one (hopefully) before my 30 days is up. So then I'll have to redo everything again and install all my crap.
