I didn't know sprint offered text to landlines. Kind of funny actually, my friend texted me and I received a phone call from her number so I answered it and my house phone started reading me her text and then asked if I wanted to reply with a text or voice sms. I hung up and called her and she said she never sent it to my house and her phone says it was to my cell. We were both amazed lol. Anyways, this is probably old news, but thought it was kind of interesting.

I have to admit, that text to landline feature is kind of nice especially in loud situations where one cannot hold a worthwhile phone call. Send a text and it is automatically read to the receiving person. :)

No, its counts as regular text. I have tried text to landlind and never charged 25 cents just as a regular text and I have unlimited text.

I tried sending it from the sprint website to a landline but no luck it just says this number is not accepting text messages.

i accidentally sent a couple when i had my Rumor, and never got charged any additional fees.
I did not even know it existed until i got a text back saying that the land line had received the text.

I just did this by accident when testing sending a text from my new phone to my old phone and I ended up sending to my landline instead (which was in my contacts list)... I immediately remembered this thread when I heard my land phone ring right after sending! :hee: It did let me send a recorded reply back to my sending phone and that generated a text with a phone # that it could call to hear the recorded reply.
Guess I'll find out eventually if having done all this generates some kind of extra cost though. :irked:

I just tried it and got this message back to my cell phone.
"Your message was addressed to a landline #409-xxx-xxxx. Send msgs to a landline # using Sprint's Text to Landline service! Std rates apply"
What do you think that means exactly? I know I have unlimited text, but does anyone think there will be some other type of fee?
"standard rates apply" implies that there won't be any additional fees.

This is new to me. I have unlimited text when my new phone arrives so I can't WAIT to try this out. Thanks for the info.
