Well, my little Sanyo SCP3200 started to do weird things. Mainly when I would reboot some W03 and W01 error came up and then it tried to connect to data services. Used to say “entering Sprint service area”
Went into settings, and made sure enable data was off and it still is doing the W03 and W01 error thing.
Now when I open the phone, it is all ready to connect to data services. Sometimes I hear a little tone from across the cabin telling me my phone wants to connect.
So, I called customer care, and the first rep I talked to I could not even remotely understand. So I politely excused myself, called again, and got someone who was even harder to understand.
I think I was told to do is what I had already done and made sure in settings data was turned to off position. That took sixteen minutes on hold most of the time.
So here I am, posting here in a Sprint forum hoping to seek the answer.
Does my phone sound like it is having a near death experience?
Is there a secret English number I should be calling?
Um....Help!

Sounds like Ready Link is enabled... try turning it off... (Menu- Settings- Ready Link)... at least I think that's where it's located. It uses data and could be the source of your problem. In fact, when you hit the large rectangler key on the side of the phone when it is open, it may try and start it from there. When you turn Ready link off, that key will then become a shortcut to the Voice Recorder.

Yep, datalink is also disabled. Oh well, I did get an automated Sprint call asking me questions on how my customer care rep handled the problem and after answering all the questions, I was informed someone would be calling within five days to try to help me.
Maybe this will be the winning post on the phone giveaway! Tho, I am not really holding my breath...
Hey, thanks for trying to help, and you both type really great English..I understood everything!

uh...Guess I meant Ready-link. Felecity thank you. I realized later it was you with two posts and at the time I thought it was two different posters. I am as confused as my little phone. Thanks!

Wingmonk, Any luck? Mine's doing the same thing. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why. Additionally interesting is the fact that my wife and I got the same phone (except hers is pink and mine is NOT  ), and hers doesn't have this problem. Any info you get would be appreciated. Thanks!

Rexxx, nope, I still have the problem here. My wife has also has the pink one with no problem, and the blue one I have is all messed up.
Sprint did try to call but I missed their call. The message left was in perfect English so its sad I missed it.
Personally, I just won't call again as when one has a technical problem and unable to relay that to someone who is trying to help it just too much to bear lol.
The phone is still making and receiving calls so I will just live with this until I find a replacement phone on ebay.
Did try to look on the trade forum here but since I am too new I guess I am not allowed to troll looking for something else. Bummer. I don't really understand that policy, but it is what it is for whatever reason.
Rexxx, hope you get your problem resolved too. I myself am starting to regret leaving years service with AT&T.

I may have figured out something that will help. I'm not sure I solved the actual problem, but at least I've prevented the symptom!
Go into "Settings/Security (If you haven't changed it, the security code should be the last 4 digits of your phone number)/Others/Lock Services" and then choose "Lock Data".
With the Data services locked out, the Auto-connecting seems to have stopped. It's not an issue for me as I don't subscribe to or use any data services, but someone else may not find this a very convenient solution. Hope it helps!

Thanks Rexxxx, I tried that and it stopped making all the noises. Yay! Still getting a bunch of errors whenever I reboot but phone seems to work ok. Nice work!
