i see alot of peope having problems getting it working with the internal gps of the Q9C

just choose GPS intermediate driver as the option and it works fine

(hint its the last on the list past all the com ports)

also on google maps, just choose USE GPS dont mess with the settings, and it works

I'm just going through old posts instead of making new ones. Anyone got a link to download or use this Windows Live or Google Maps gps software?

I tried a link someone posted: mobile.live.com but really didn't find anything?

Does Windows Live or Google Maps give turn by turn directions? I'm playing with it and I don't know how to use it (coming from a Garmin and Telenav user). I find it no different than using mapquest.com on my computer. It only gives me directions in text. It isn't exactly "GPS" unless I'm not using it right.

WLS does turn by turn, but no voice

i uninstalled WLS and Google maps, since i have Sprint Navigation (telenav) and Route66

Free for me too? ;)

PS - do you have a working version of tcpmp? I downloaded tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab but it wouldn't install. It says something about it's not the right version for your phone, but that's what I found on qusers.com

yep, its a gps app similar to telenav accept it uses maps stored on a SD card so it allows you to do standalone gps (no cellular coverage)

for WLS - how can I get it to default to the current GPS location when I first start the app?

Cool~ :haha:
I really want to install R66 on my q9c, but I am not sure whether it really works because my friend said that his q9c GPS couldn't calculate any navi routes, it just stopped and then frozened,,,,
So, if I want to get it, do I need to change some registry settings for the COM port activations instead of WM GPS Intermediate Driver setting?
Thanks in advance,

the newest version of R66 supports the intermediate driver just keep in mind when you first run it, it may freeze or feel frozen just let it be, it takes 1-2 minutes to aggregate the map data and to detect GPS and poll the satellites, after the first run it gets quicker

Man I downloaded the North America maps. I think it came to about 3GB iirc. The Northeast map alone was like 450MB. I have no idea how a cell phone would load that kind of information. I tried to run R66 and let it hang for like 30 mins but it never got anywhere.

-----------

Anyways my question is concerning Windows Live. Is there a way to make it face in the direction that you are moving (instead of the top of the cell phone pointing North)? I find it kinda hard to use when I'm looking down at my cell phone to see my car moving sideways.
