Dispaly will not turn off!

so i just noticed my display will not shut off anyone got an answer to this problem? i've done soft and hard resets with no luck.

Huh. My suggestion is always a hard/soft reset for a situation like this. If that does not fix the problem I go for the old return/exchange @ that point. I haven't heard about anybody having this issue yet though. Have you tried messing around with your power management settings? Even still, I would think a reset should fix this problem. I would suggest calling Motorola customer support but you are probably smarter than their smartest tech CSR r. I have had nothing but TERRIBLE customer service/support from them so I dunno...sorry. Can you exchange it still I hope?

by default i noticed on my Q9C the display shutoff was disabled, i would check in the settings and see if yours is the same way

i set it to 5 minute timeout so now, no matter what my display turns off either on battery or on AC adapter

yeah i messed with the settings, hard reset, soft reset, nothing worked.
i'll just get it replaced no biggie

i noticed the same prob when my battery drains quikly because the display wont turn off. well the reason it did that to me because i had a mini sd card adapter w/out the mini sd card, that prevent the display light from turning off. to fix this simply insert ur mini sd card into the mini sd card adapter OR remove all cards from ur phone.
i hope u didnt return ur phone cuz of that

Talk about ironic... I came on to find out why my dang display won't turn on!!
Stays on for 1 second then shuts off. Have all the settings set to 60 seconds or more and it doesn't help. Locks up constant. Have had to pull the battery 9 times since 11pm last night and I just activated the phone at 8:30pm yesterday.
It's going back to the store.

try to remove ur sd card and see if it changes anything.
also try a hard reset see if it solves ur problem

I don't have a memory card and I have done several resets hard soft and master but it still locks up.

I'm curious, after how long did this happen after u recieved the phone. if u are still within the first 30 days then u can change the phone at no extra charge unless u have insurance.

I'm sending it back. Planning to make the call to care tomorrow morning.
I have only had the phone for a few days. I had it for 2 days before I turned it on and after I turned it on this all happened in the first 8-9 hours.
I have nothing on the phone yet other than a few contacts.
It won't save any profile I select... .the alarm works once out of 10 tries....woke up this morning and Live Search was running(***!)..tried to shut it down and all of a sudden Wireless manager started running.
I tried to change my background picture(using a built in picture) and it'll stick for a few mins before the phone locks up. Pulling the battery and the phone resets to default picture.
Plus it's slower than sin. Click a button, wait wait and then it moves... press a button wait wait and then it moves. There is nothing running in task manager. Dreadfully slow.
Thinking it's a bad phone... have read most of these problems in other threads and a replacement phones don't harbour the same problems.
We'll see.
