View Full Version : Need some advice

I want to get on the SERO 1250 plan, and I can go either 2 ways but i'm not sure what I should do.

My contract is expiring in March 2008, so it's not too far away, but I wouldn't mind getting it before then.

Right now I have a nextel phone/plan, and March will be officially 2 years since i've had it. The account however is registered under my parent's name, because I was only 17 at the time when the account was set up. Now i'm 19, and have good enough credit to do a transfer of liability into my name.

I was wondering what the best route to get on SERO would be, and would it be better to do a transfer of liability into my name, or wait until my contract expires in March so I can cancel and sign up as a new customer.

I've heard that you can get a loyalty discount if your a customer for at least 2 years, so that would be an added bonus. As of right now I have no perk or benefits under my nextel account, I haven't really bothered with it. I do belong to a credit union though, and i've heard you can get a discount with that as well.

Can someone help me out with the process to getting on SERO? The massive thread on sero attempts is just a bit overwhelming and hard to understand..other then what i've listed here I know nothing about SERO(what email to use, etc) I plan to get the Palm Centro phone, with the SERO 1250 and i'll need PAM & hopefully unlimited text messaging. I don't mind using a different number then the one I have now.

Thanks,
Rich

Sign up for SERO now, don't worry about discounts you aren't supposed to have them on a SERO plan. If you are getting a Centro you don't need PAM. Read the SERO thread, do some homework. And read the Centro forum for why you don't need PAM.

You will get more help if you do some research (reading) before asking questions that have been answered over and over again.

yeah best bet is just sign up for Sero and doing your homework even for just half an hour will help a lot...its amazing how much smoother things go if you have some knowledge on your side.

I've read over the SERO thread (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133068_) and it doesn't answer any of my questions that i've asked here.

I've also looked over the massive 200+ page and 3000+ post SERO thread, and it's very hard to find anything in such a big thread, and most of the stuff I found is outdated from years ago.

It's not like i'm asking you to write an essay, just asking the pros to answer a few questions, that won't take more then 5 minutes of their day, which I couldn't find myself. Here i'll put them in bold to make it easier:

savings@sprint.com and openaccess@sprint.com are these still valid sero emails? If not what should I use?
Should I wait for my contract to expire in March, or should I do a transfer of liability and then switch my NEXTEL plan over to sprint and attempt to get SERO.
If the answer to the above is the latter, what is the best way to go about doing this. IE:Getting on a normal sprint plan and then try to switch to sero, or just ask to get on SERO upfront. And can I do this over the internet after putting the phone in my name?

If you'd like to continue to try to insult me, please feel free to list any recent answers to these questions which have already been answered in the past 3 months, because I myself couldn't find them. If i had been able to, why would I make a thread about it? :thought:

I'm only answering because you are LAZY! Those of us that have SERO accounts have read the threads, worked our way through it and try to help others when they have helped themselves. I'm not going to search the threads to find the answers for you.

1. You would be better having a real Sprint employee email address. Read that 200 page SERO thread, there are valid email addresses posted in there you can use or ways to obtain one.

2. Don't wait, order up your SERO account now. I already stated that in my previous reply.

3. Don't get a regular plan and try to switch it to SERO, YOU WILL FAIL.

When your Nextel phone is out of contract it may be possible to port the number to your new SERO line.

SERO plans are heavily discounted so don't plan on getting additional discounts unless you badger them into it.

If you feel I was insulting you, read through this forum and find all the first time posters asking "how do I get a SERO" question when they didn't read the first thread and you will understand my reply.

Alright, this just concludes my previous thought. No one knows **** about it more then I do. Maybe people are asking all these questions because they can't find an answer, wouldn't someone making a walk through and having it stickied make more sense? How about a stickied thread with known working email addresses, would that not make sense?

I took your suggestion and after 30 minutes of looking through the thread the closest thing I have found to an email address was you pointing out a previous poster who mentioned http://www.buzzaboutwireless.com/ and 'tristans' email address, which is nowhere to be found on that website.

I've spent hours looking through this forum, and it is so unorganized you can't find anything. Don't call me lazy for not wanting to dedicate several days of staring at a computer screen to find something that someone who already knows could simply answer in a few keystrokes.

I've used the search button, i've read that thread and in the past 30 pages of it the only replys are "Hey guess what I got SERO today, and i'm not going to explain it but ramble on for half a page on how I have to port my number/had it ported/talked to a CS rep" or "congrats, now donate all your SU$ to me and send referrals my way, oh and if you aren't as smart as me or have any questions on a forum, you might as well jump off a bridge because your not getting anything out of me"

Look up the definition of what a forum is.

I agree with Bruce. Rich, if you read even the last 30 pages of the 200 page thread you will most likely find all the answers to your very frequently asked questions. It's not that forum users are unwilling to help, because everyone is. But the same common questions have been asked and answered over and over again. Take some time and you'll be on SERO in no time.
